No, because Emperor Nero made himself king harshly but Jesus is like a king of the Jews that Poncius Pilate put the sign INRI(King of the Jews).

Most probably YES...!
I can come to this conclusion because of the varying proclamations of Jesus in course of time like...
1."I am the messenger of God"
2."I am the son of God himself"
3."I am the God"
There must have been a lot of prophets similar to Jesus, but few make their mark like him, because of the supporting circumstances. For Jesus, it came when King Constantine embraced christianity and promoted it. He is the main reason why Christianity is spread throughout the world.

KTD_73:To answer your question. Yochanan (John) 8:21-8:29
ex: "SO Yeshua (Jesus) said, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that *I AM, and that of myself I do nothing, but say only what the Father has taught me."
*I AM is a direct reference to Moses at the burning bush when Moses asked about which god was going to free the Jews from Pharoh

Jesus NEVER sought worship for himself.
He directed ALL worship to his Father in heaven, Jehovah God.
(Matthew 4:10) Then Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”
Jesus was NOT talking about himself.
Also Luke 4;8
(John 4:23-24) Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him. 24Â God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth.”
(Revelation 22:9) But he tells me: “Be careful! Do not do that! All I am is a fellow slave of you and of your brothers who are prophets and of those who are observing the words of this scroll. Worship God.”
Jesus is NOT God.
(John 5:19) Therefore, in answer, Jesus went on to say to them: “Most truly I say to YOU, The Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what he beholds the Father doing. For whatever things that One does, these things the Son also does in like manner.

Nero had no one to back up his story though. Jesus had over 200 prophecies about Him in the Old Testament.

Well its not like God yelled it down from heaven.....
Every man-god ever has been a self-proclaimed God....
...he was more self-implied, and then proclaimed by his prophets...
At Jesus' baptism a Voice from heaven was heard:
"This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased."
So God yelled down from heaven.
And again on the Mount of Transfiguration, when disciples went with Jesus to the top of the mountain, out of the heaven a Voice said:
This is my son, hear him.
And in the book of Acts a great way to TELL if it is a self-proclaimed anyone... then.... now.... or in the future.
Acts Chapter 5, Verses 34-39
34Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;
35And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
36For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.
37After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
38And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
39But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
So the question is with Jesus has it come to nought (nothing) ?

It's the same case. But who can prove that Jesus wasn't the son of god? On the other hand, who can prove that he was the son of god? A god by any other name is still a god.
