Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is basically genetic caused by a trauma, toxicity, smoking cigaretts, alcohol consumption, or drug use during pregnancy.
There is much information regarding ADHD I think it would be important for you to link to the website I posted in the source.
I do not think watching television everyday is going to cause ADHD. Actually Barney, Dora, and Blue's Clues are educational, which is good.
If you think your daughter is watching too much television it might be a good idea to start your daughter with "Hooked on Phonics".
Your daughters learning ability is very important and at this time.

What Causes ADHD?
The exact cause of ADHD is not known, although researchers continue to study the brain for clues. They suspect that there are several factors that may contribute to the condition, including:
Heredity: The fact that ADHD tends to run in families suggests that children may inherit a tendency to develop ADHD from their parents.
Chemical imbalance: Experts believe an imbalance of the chemicals that help nerve cells in the brain communicate with each other, called neurotransmitters, may be a factor in the development of symptoms.
Brain changes: Areas of the brain that control attention are less active in children with ADHD than in children without the disorder.
The following are other factors that may contribute to the development of ADHD or that may trigger symptoms:
Poor nutrition, infections and substance abuse (including cigarette and alcohol use) during pregnancy may be contributing factors, since they can affect the development of the baby's brain.
Exposure to toxins, such as lead, in early childhood can also affect brain development.
Injury to the brain or a brain disorder.
It is important to note that eating too much sugar on the part of the child does not cause ADHD. However, a proper diet is essential for normal development in children. ADHD is also not caused by watching too much TV, a poor home life, poor schools or food allergies.

Attention deficit is something a child is born with. The brain has two sections and thought processes go back and forth. With ADD, the thought bounces back and doesn't go through. They think differently. Thus, social skills are hampered because they don't respond to social cues. Their intellect is generally higher but attention spans are relatively short. The h in ADHD refers to hyperactivity which sometimes accompanies the syndrome. Again, she won't develop it from watching TV. You should be able to curtail the Tv watching but if she must, join with her and interact. Talk about the program while it's on.

The American Academy of Pediatrics states that children 2 years and under should not watch any TV. http://www.aap.org/family/tv1.htm
Bev Bos, internationally acclaimed preeminent preschool expert and educator, believes that TV and video games are not good for kids, in any way. She believes more parental involvement like reading and play and just face to face talking is much better for the development of the brain.
