We all Know that Jesus performed alot of miracles during His days. We also know that He enable many of His disciples and believers to perform miracles such as Moses.

I am sure all of you real Christians have no less faith than Moses or any other Christian disciple that ever walked on this earth.

That is why it is strange that no such miracles like splitting the ocean or raining bread from the skies ever happen these days.

You can't say it is because we are further from God know since all you real Christians believe in Jesus 100% which is no less than Moses or any other.

You can't say that miracles still happen these days.
Miracles like splitting the ocean is not debatable of being a coincidence or miracle. Curing a cancer or something is an ambigious incident.

I am talking about real miracles that are undeniable such as those in the past.

Why not perform some for us these days?

Or is it more convenient in a book?(sarcasm)

What are your thoughts Christians

I know what you are talking about....and I think it has so much to do with the fact that people think (TOO MUCH) that whatever happens in our lives is ALL of God's will for it to happen! People aren't trusting for miracles to be done like they used to!! People aren't expecting for God to allow miracles in their lives, let alone around us!! It says in the Bible, and I think that this would still hold true if we as christians would have ABUNDANT FAITH:

Matthew 21:19-22

19-And seeing a fig tree by the road. Jesus came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, "Let no fruit grow on you ever again". Immediately the fig tree withered away.
20- And when the disciples saw it, they marveled saying, "How did the fig tree wither away so soon?"
21-So Jesus answered and said to them, "Assuredly I say to you, if you have FAITH and DO NOT DOUBT, you will NOT only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, "BE REMOVED and be cast into the sea" IT WILL BE DONE!
22-And WHATEVER YOU ASK IN PRAYER, BELIEVING...YOU WILL RECIEVE!!!
I am believing in God for my miracle!!
May God bless you too!!! ( :

1. The undeniable and unexplainable healing of anything like cancer etc, when done in the name of Jesus Christ, is without question a miracle of God, and these types of miracles do indeed occur today. There are many living witnesses who can attest to these facts.
2. Other miracles such as what you mention occurred in order to promote and forward God's will and His kingdom. If these types of miracles were necessary to accomplish this same goal than they would definitely occur. But a wicked and adulterous people seek signs just for the sake of signs, as Jesus Himself stated many times.
3. The numerous miracles performed for the Israelites, as recorded in Scripture, did not in any way cause them to worship God or follow Him more closely. They didn't even cause them to obey 10 simple Commandments. They were still stiff-necked and full of disbelief. In the same way, such miracles would not impact this sinful and disobedient generation at all. The opposite would be true; we'd either sweep the evidence under the rug -such as is regularly done by evolutionists regarding scientific evidence against evolution and for creation- or we would credit the miracles to the power of Satan, such as was done by the Pharisees regarding Jesus' miracles.
4. You have the miracle of many changed lives taking place daily, and yet still most won't believe.
5. Most in this world today would reject any miracles or any evidence for God because of our sinful natures. If someone found the remnants of Noah's ark, and it was paraded down the main street of every city in the world, most would still refuse to believe. That is a fact!!!!

Well... Maybe because people these days have lost all their faith in God!
We're constantly being put down in the media, in real life and on sites such as these!

People back then were MUCH how do you say it... Hollier (not exactly the right word)!
And miracles didn't happen everyday in the past!
What's the point of forming these miracles anymore? People would just have more things to mock!
Plus, it's up to God to chose things like that!

God Bless!

You have to ask why the miracles were performed in the first place, then ask if that need exists today.

(By the way Moses was a Jew, not a Christian, and not actually a "disciple" of Jesus.)

New Testament miracles were not done purely as a sign, to impress non-believers, as you imply you'd like God to do today. NT miracles validated Jesus as being who he claimed to be, and later, validated the reality of the new church.

Now that the church is established, there's no need for the kinds of miracles you see in the Bible.

OTOH Christians regularly see miraculous healing and other answers to prayer such as are promised in the Bible. We generally don't make a big deal about it (again, our job isn't to impress people), and those that do are generally charlatans.

The first miracle Christians should perform is to teach you that Moses was not aa disciple of Jesus. (#1)
The second miracle they must perform is to teach you how to read the "symbolism" of miracles.
Miracles are not witchcrafting operations. Ther are a symbol of what FAITH can do.
Every religion has its own explanations and "marketing" for faith.
Miracles were 2000 years ago a "marketing" solution...
So whether christians or not, I think humans should look at each other religious differences with an open minded way, and not in a sarcastic manner.
I trust you have this scientific approach to the human kind.

oh my - ask the former cancer-diseased person if they think their miraculous cure was an "ambiguous incident."

as to some of your other thoughts - I do believe I hear that you do believe that God IS a God of miracles, and that the miracles you have read about in the Old Testament have impressed you...that's pretty cool...I think they are impressive, too.

Would you also agree that the story of the tablets God inscribed with his finger on Mt. Sinai was real? I kind of think that's where we really see the Hebrew nation coming to terms with the principle, "what is sin?" by receiving a testimony written by God himself telling them the rules.

Problem was nobody could keep the rules. Just like us.

The real deal is that God reallly reallllly wants a people who will have RELATIONSHIP with him. But he is a perfect God, and imperfection and perfection can't hang out in the same place at the same time. Ain't happenin'. Get me?

So God, in his infinite mercy and wisdom, provided a remedy for fallen man. (I fell. Even today. Haven't you?)

Why? Here's why. Love.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

And where do we spend that everlasting life? With Him.

Just like He wanted.

"In my Father's house are many mansions, I go to prepare a place for you. If it were not so, I would not have told you."
--John 14:2

One of the songs I've sung in church goes like this: "Well you just wait, til you see my brand new home. You're gonna see it's beauty rare, down here there is none that can compare. You just wait til you see my brand new home. My heavenly Father has for me, I'm gonna occupy for free. You just wait til you see my brand new home!"

Those are my thoughts. Come on along, my friend. There's a place there for you, too. But first.....let's just DO THIS.

Interestingly enough in the entire history of the bible the sea was only parted once. How many times do you think it necessary to part the sea. I suppose after awhile it would cease to be a miracle. If you need to have the sea parted in order to believe well I figure if it has only happened once in 6000 years maybe it's due to happen again soon, just wait you never know maybe after a third of the earth is destroyed, the waters turn to blood and locust plague the earth and right before the judgment books are opened, just to appease your curiosity God might just go ahead and part the sea for you just one last time.

I'll take a stab at this one.....I don't know why God chooses not to put on a miracle show for non believers,

I suspect he might not have to...

How many would you need to see? one, twenty? that's right, never enough, he would have to put on a show for every generation that needs to see it with his/her own eyes..

There is a thing called the miracle of birth...take a trip to China you just might be lucky enough to see some evidence of it happening over there!

Thing is, if you believe, you see evidence of miracles happening everywhere. China too far? Go to the bathroom, look in the mirror,............ behold! you are looking at a living miracle!!

It's more like an essay than a question. Jesus never performed a single miracle for a show. And those who would believe in God, will without them. Similarly, just like in the times of Jesus, those who would not believe, will not regardless of what miracle they witness.

Jesus and His original disciples performed all those miracles. Since the crucifixion, God has left us with His Holy Word to test our faiths in Him and His Word.

Do you believe God for His Word?
