Speaking both personally, and for many people I know, finding out there is no Santa Claus was hard, but it was not the devestating life event some people (mainly people who were NOT taught about Santa) believe.

That would be a good idea but the problem is Santa comes only once a year. Am sure that would only be effective for a month or two months. Anyway, the good thing is - children are watchful and make themselves good during the approaching Yuletides. It gives them the importance of being good. Hope these will be a multiplier effect on their attitudes.
Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

All the concept of Santa Claus does in this day and age is teach kids to be greedy, and look forward to how much loot they're going to haul in every holiday. There's a reason why there are Santa Clauses in every big department store and/or shopping mall. You won't see much about Jesus, Mary, and Joseph in those places. If they were accountants looking to see how they could make up for a lackluster first, second, and third financial quarter by boosting holiday sales, you'd probably see them there.

no longer continually. no longer all religions have self assurance in Christmas or in Santa Claus, so it relies upon on who you're conversing to. And, no, the assumption in Santa Claus would not instruct something, whether that is Santa Claus's existence or God's. Santa is a fictional character which exchange into started centuries in the past as a manner for little ones to have exciting. It gave the mother and dad a threat to "play Santa" for a time. whilst mum and dad tell youngsters that Santa exists, they're ideal in one way. He does exist, with the aid of THEM. each and every be sure is Santa Claus to their youngsters, and the little ones ought to learn this whilst they're sufficiently old to understand. yet God is a completely diverse count. HE DOES exist, and he's the writer. Even from the beginning up, some primitive tribes who never heard of God or Christ believed that there exchange into some rigidity which watched over them, that there exchange right into a "ruler" interior the universe someplace. This tells me that many human beings which incorporates those tribes believed in some form of better potential and recognized it. And, as for going to heaven? as quickly as we settle for Christ first and maximum outstanding, denounce our former lives and stay for him and his kingdom to come again, THEN if we screw up, we are in a position to be forgiven. yet, if we don't settle for him, and we die, we isn't forgiven, because of the fact we never repented of that sin to start with. so which you're dealing 2 very diverse characters. God is actual, Santa is actual only as some distance because of the fact the youngster's mum and dad are in contact.

It doesn't teach them to question authority, it actually encourages them to behave themselves while they believe in it, and continues to do so well until after they have a strong compass of why right and wrong exist. And it's no more a means of teaching rebellion than other fantasy myths like the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, fairy tale creatures, etc.
It's just another thing that uses a child's "magical thinking" in order to increase their happiness.

Absolutely.
I found it telling that my father stopped trying to convince me that the god of Abraham and Jesus of Nazareth were "real" at about the same time I figured out that "Santa Claus" had my mother's hand-writing. I was about seven-years-old.

I understand what your saying, I never told my children that Santa was real. But neither did I with God. I always told the decision of picking a religion or not will be theirs and not mine.

santa is just a fat man with a bag full of toys for good boys and girls who rides in a reindeer driven sleigh.
a little imagination never hurt anyone. too much though can do some damage though, just check out all the religions! (ba-da dink! [joke..])
