Wait back up.

First remember that in marriage "What God has joined together no man can take apart". God is the one that created marriage and not man. I mean he married or made Eve to be with Adam for the rest of their lives.

Secondly that kind of marriage you are inferring moves out of the spiritual if she gets pregnant by you.

Third perhaps you are talking of a platonic relationship.

If by financial reasons you mean that the government won't give you welfare or aid if you are married, then you are probably not in a place to either marry or have kids. If you are serious about things, you should hammer out your life situation first, and get things in order, including income, then talk about having a lifelong relationship. God tells us to obey the laws of the land. He tells us to honor the marriage bed, and marriage in the US is a legal union, not a sleeping together arrangement that may never go legal. I had some friends that spoke just as you. "Why do we need a piece of paper?" they would ask. Well, when the woman's childhood boyfriend was slated to return to town, she dropped 40 pounds, as well as her "Why do we need a piece of paper?" common-law husband, and married the long lost bo.

Is the legal marriage important? Yes!!! If you live in a land that forbids marriage, then you may be justified in marrying out of country and returning. But by-and-large, there is no good reason to evade legal marriage. It protects both parties, and it adds incentive not to leave at the drop of a hat. If marriage in your country is a legal matter, then you should to be legal if you want to honor God, the author of human government and the marital institution.

well id say just don't get married at all. if you and your partner intend to be together "forever" then no piece of paper, or ring for that matter, will make that bond stronger. the paper and ring are really just to let others know you are married. and for the government to have more control over your life.
you are forgetting that your should marry for love and only love. now there are many people that marry for money or just to stay christian and still have sex. not counting those who marry for money only. most of the time these marriages break before too long.
you do not need any amount of money to love someone. all you really end up paying for is again, paper and materials for the ring. but if you have the money what better way to spend it. one more thing.....only you can decide why you are getting married.

In line with islamic teachingthere are 2 ways of marriage:
1)Silent (siri)marriage which is attended by the would be bride and bride groom, bride's father as wali, an ustadz (islamic scholar),2 witnesses. The bride groom should give a mahar or wedding present to the bride..This marriage is not registered and has no certificate as the evidence.
2)publicly marriage which is conducted in front of the official of religion affairs and witnessed by so many family, relatives and friends. usually a a wedding party after the wedding procession. This marriage will be registered and the bride and bride groom will be given a certificate with their photos.

By making mutual vows to God that they wish to be together forever, and will remain faithful to each other ( 1 man, 1 woman ) for the rest of their natural lives.

I'm sure I'll get a thumbs down for the 1 man, 1 woman part, but oh well.

In the beginning - before God's laws and then the laws of man - marraige was consummated by engaging in sex. The ceremonies and licenses came much later.

If you financially can't afford to get married at a courthouse then you probably don't have enough to take care of yourselves period so maybe you need to find somebody else who can provide a decent living or wait until one of you can yourselves.
