As an Atheist I nevertheless stay to the Spirit of yule and of Santa Claus. that's to not say that i think in the two Santa or the Christian God however. And neither do my toddlers. So, bypass forward and tell my toddler's that Santa does not exist. they are totally responsive to what's fact and what's fiction and superstition. they might even experience sorry for you.

see, the cool thing about us atheists - we have no code of ethics/"no-no's"! we have no book telling us what to believe and what to not believe! we can think for ourselves!

now, seeing as how our parents have admitted to being santa, the tooth fairy and all that, it would be just plain silly for one to continue to believe in them!

as far as god is concerned.. well.. we know better.

put a little more thought into your questions next time and ask something that doesn't prove you to be a complete moron. =)

No adult believes in Santa, unless they are in a mental facility. I highly doubt, however, that an atheist parent would let their child believe in Santa, though. I guess it depends on the person, though.

Can an adult believe in Santa Claus -- Atheist or Christian?

I hold both in equal disbelief.

I do have to favor Santa over God though. Santa has never sent his followers out to tell me I was going to a hell for not making the good list nor have I been forced to believe in him or else go to "Hell"

God is Santa Claus for adults.

(Yes, when I was younger, I believed in both. This was before I was an atheist, however.)

They are both imaginary characters, but anyways, yes, atheists can believe in Santa if they so desire.
