Other than the verse stating that the sins of the father will be visited upon the son, where does it say that you are held accountable on Judgment Day for sins that others commit?

Anywhere?

And does the father's "sin visiting" upon the son mean that the son will be held accountable for the father's sins on Judgment Day?

If it's the case that you aren't held accountable for others' sins on Judgment Day, then as long as the law protects people from harm, why should you care at all whether other people are sinning?

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

The Bible does not hold me accountable for your sins. But, put another way, suppose I know a bridge is washed out and I see you approaching that bridge in your car with your family inside. I would be compelled to warn you the bridge was out. What you do with that information is up to you.

The same goes with my concern whether or not you know Jesus.

I did my job by trying to warn you. The same way that I can't force you out of your car to keep you from going over the washed out bridge, I can't force you to understand salvation through Jesus to save your soul. But I have to at least try to warn you.

That last sentence really sums up what you're getting at, so I'll just answer that as opposed to your original question:

Christians care that others are sinning for a number of reasons... some for all the reasons, some for a few, depends on the person:

* It's offensive to God. Some Christians feel that because God is over all, he is to be respected, and therefore will seek others not to sin so as not to cause him offense. Same reason you may ask someone not to discuss a certain sensitive subject around a particular friend.

* What seems to me to be the most common is because they care. Part of being a real (read: REAL) Christian is to care about and love others - even your own enemy. For this reason, a Christian following this mindset will act in the best way they see fit to help (even if it's not really that helpful, like those guys who stand on street corners and yell) save a person whom they fear could be in danger of Hell. It truly is a compassion thing, regardless of how some people make it come off.

I'm sure there are more reasons, but those two are the most evident. I'm a Christian and believe me, I know how annoying some of those people can be trying to meddle in your business, and I just ask that you not hold it against ALL of us, we're not all bothersome like that.

Ezekiel 18:2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge? 3 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel. 4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

You said, "why should you care at all whether other people are sinning?"

Matthew 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Being accountable for and caring about people are two different things.

sure, it extremely is amazingly trouble-free. each and every and each sin is a few thing I do with finished expertise, administration and reason that reason a harm or distance in my dating with God or my fellow guy. it is the definition of sin. it is not as lots an act, because of the reality all acts have circumstances surrounding it, because it is the clarification in the back of it and harm it does to others and relationships. If it suits into that type then it extremely is a sin, at the same time as subject concerns are listed they seem a training manual or party, no longer a laundry record to be sure off. Being a Christian isn't as undemanding as doing this and not doing that. even with how some people sell it at right here it extremely is a thinking and feeling faith it is effective to paintings with the aid of that way. remember Jesus fulfilled the previous covenant based on the "regulation" of subject concerns you ought to desire to and can desire to no longer do, and started a sparkling one. the situation his very very final and New commandment exchange into to love one yet yet another as I honestly have enjoyed you.

Visiting iniquity on the 3rd and 4th generations simply means that the effects or consequences of sin remain in the bloodline for that long before they are diluted. It does NOT mean that each generation is responsible for the sins of the generations before it.

We will EACH be held accountable for our own sins. BUT what YOU do affects those who come after you in either positive or negative ways. You can make THEIR lives either easier or harder based upon YOUR actions.

Jesus has said in the bible that in order to get salvation, the commandments should be kept... Conversation between a young man and Jesus: "And, behold, one came and said unto him [Jesus], Good Master, what good thing shall I do, THAT I MAY HAVE ETERNAL LIFE? And he said unto him, Why
callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS" (Mat. 19:16-17).
THE FIRST OF ALL THE COMMANDMENTS IS,
Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is ONE Lord: And thou shalt LOVE THE
LORD THY GOD with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind,
and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Mark 12:29

this is the first one and the most important commandment...But none of the christians follow this..because they believe in trinity and not in One God....so none of them will get salvation even according to their own bible....
What the church teaches (believe that Jesus died on cross and u will get salvation....so just do whatever u like, you will not be punished for that because Jesus has already paid for that),seems a man made concept.because this concept will prompt everyone to commit sins and do evil deeds.
"The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him." (Ezekiel 18:20)
this satatement of the bible so clearly states that no one will be held responsible for others sins and he himself will pay for what he does.but i dont know why the christians say that Jesus has paid for our sins...

The "visiting of the sins" is only on the children IF they continue in their hatred of God.

Ex 20:5-6
for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand [ generations] of those who love me and keep my commandments.
(from New International Version)

Besides which, we are not under the old covenant given through Moses but are in the new covenant ushered in by Jesus Christ:

Jer 31:28-32
29 "In those days people will no longer say,

'The fathers have eaten sour grapes,
and the children's teeth are set on edge.'

30 Instead, everyone will die for his own sin; whoever eats sour grapes--his own teeth will be set on edge.

31 "The time is coming," declares the LORD,
"when I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah.
32 It will not be like the covenant
I made with their forefathers
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they broke my covenant,
though I was a husband to them,"
declares the LORD.
(from New International Version)

You are misinterpreting original sin to mean that we are punished for our father's sin,
All men sin and all men die.
Sin and death entered the world through Adam.
In this way we can say we inherited sin and death.
Every man has his own sin and all who do not accept the atonement will be judged according to their sin.
Those who accept the atonement will be made new.

You are only accountable for your sins.

Some sins consist in non-action! Not exercising faith in God's son is one of these sins, and it prevents salvation. Have you committed it?

Thus non faith in God, in his son leads to damnation, that is for those that have had the exposure to the teaching.

The reason we should care at all if other people sin, is that part of our proof of being a Christian is obeying the Law of Faith. It is built on the royal laws. One of which is to love your neighbor as yourself.

Thus it is the Christian's obligation as Paul says,' I believe therefore I speak ', and 'how can they believe unless someone speaks to them' (paraphrased). We try to show this love of neighbor by warning the ungodly, the unrighteous of the consequences of their disbelief -- and our own salvation is actually dependent on this.

Please read the watchman chapter in Ezekiel. Here are two excerpts:
Ezekiel 3:18, When I say to someone wicked, ‘You will positively die,’ and you do not actually warn him and speak in order to warn the wicked one from his wicked way to preserve him alive,

he being wicked, in his error he will die,

but his blood I shall ask back from your own hand. . .

Ezekiel 3:19, . . .But as for you, in case you have warned someone wicked and he does not actually turn back from his wickedness and from his wicked way,

he himself for his error will die;

but as for you, you will have delivered your own soul.. . .
