I had a respitory infection and have been on antibiotics for about 5 days. Now my throat is so sore in the very back, on the left side, that I can feel it when I breathe it hurts so bad. It hurts to swallow, and even my ear is hurting. Should I go back to the dr or does anyone have any home remedies for this? Thanks for any suggestions!!

the secret to anitbiotics

get plenty of rest and plenty of fluids - - - - - - - - or-----
it's just like pouring water down your throat
with nothing

the antibiotics will not have helped AT ALL!!!!

your throat is connected to your inner ear
e.g. ever blow your nose and 'pop' your ears

so the infection has moved up

guess you have 2-5 days more of the antibiotics
REST REST REST Fluids
and chicken soup - especially freshly made

and if not better after the antibiotics
back to MD

all the best

I think you need to go back to the doctors. Sometimes certain antibiotics don't work. You may need another course. Your doctor will be to see in your ear and throat to see if there is an infection still. Then if there is not, you will have to carry on taking paracetamol and ibuprofen. You can also take throat lozenges.

I hope you feel better soon.

until you can get to the doctor, you can drink warm / hot water with one tablespoon of honey, and one of lemon for your throat. for your ear, put a towel on a heating pad, and lay on it. it will help soothe your ear ache. you also can get chlorseptic, or sucrets for your throat at the pharmacy, and ask them about over the counter ear drops. take care, and i hope you feel better soon.
