Is it a bad idea to pull a prank on a telemarketer or weird person that calls?

Yeah, sometimes, they call so much, that it's almost creepy.

There was this period of time in the summer that I was home alone, and someone kept calling, but they always hung up when I picked up the phone. The same also happened to my little brother (there were about 5 calls per day from the same anonymous caller).

But ok, the question is, is it a bad idea to say "Fxck off bi tch!" to the caller? It works every time, but will they call back (if it's NOT a telemarketer, but a stalker or something)?

oh yeah, sometimes I deepen my voice, so I sound like I'm a man/girl, and I think that scares them away too lol.

No, absolutely not. I will randomly scream into the phone, repeatedly smack the receiver on the wall, set the receiver next to the TV & turn the volume up, ask them to hold on a minute and leave them hanging - it's a major annoyance.

Now, you don't want to react this way to those who have a reason for calling you (other than to sell you something or breathing heavy) - but especially when your number is registered on the national do not call list, you absolutely should have fun with them.

Hi,

The people who work in telemarketing call centers often dont controll who they are going to call. The firm probably purchased or rented a list of numbers from a company you allready are a customer with. This list of numbers are often feed into a machine called a predictive dialer. The predictive dialer calls up a number of people and the first person who answer are connected to the telemarketing person. During a call the telemarketing sales person will have the ability to for instance register that you want a particular product or that you dont want a product etc, there are also often do not contact codes the person can enter.

In answer to your reply, if you adress the situation politely, you can ensure that the agent enters the correct code in the system. If you behave badly, your number might be rescheduled just to pull a prank on other people in the call center. The worse you behave the more calls you might get. Also remember that telemarketing jobs are often entrylevel positions for people with little work experience, your real annoyance should be directed at the company who gave out your number in the first place, and the company who makes the product the telemarketers are selling you.

I always encourage the obscene prank calls in fact I turn the telemarketing ones into that. Hey you sound cute- take off your clothes and SELL me something kinky
