Do you think Jesus approves of Christian rock music??? It is a question I've always had.

What I'm trying to say is that since I've read a lot of books trashing Christian rock and calling it "satanic" because of its use of rock, which they consider to be satanic, I was just wondering what you guys had to say.

Yes. When he sees kids worshiping him in spirit and truth listening to music I am sure he smiles.

Remember Jesus is the one who loved it when the children came to him their way. Which by the way violated the cultural norms of the day.

The Apostles were rebuked by Jesus when they tried to stop the Children from coming to him on their terms. He said you need to be like them in your worship.

Music style is not mentioned in scripture. Beware the legalistic leaven of the Pharisees who would put an unbiblical yoke of rules on you.

Why would Jesus or Jehovah condemn a certain frequency of music? Although we should be selective – rock, metal, rap, country, excreta - all have good bands. It is not the sound that defines it as good or bad, it is the lyrics and singer.

I would presume that anything promoting christianity would be OK. I've heard this asked by church members in different congregations. They debate over the type of music allowed in their churches. If it motivates or helps people to learn the BIBLE or Gods messages, then I view it as a positive step.

pslams 101-1 1 I will sing of your love and justice;
to you, O LORD, I will sing praise.
I think Jesus is pleased when we sing no matter the style. Part of being a Christian is keeping your eye on Jesus and walking with him. I think Christian rock, rap, r&b are all great tools for young people to stay focused. Jesus is pleased when we listen to music that praises him instead of listing to the sinful filth that is on other stations.

The lifestyle of rockers.
The message in the songs.
The debauchery at the concerts and after.
The wild party atmosphere and acts people engage while they play the music.

All of these things help us get a picture at so the effect it has.

Anything good about it?

I think Jesus likes any kind of music that honors his name. Rock on for Jesus!

I think Jesus would approve of anything that would bring someone closer to Him. Therefore if the music someone listens to brings them closer to God, how could any disapprove.

Depends on the real message of the music and the heart of the artists.

christian rock? hmm maybe...see what if he was like catholic or something then he wouldn't even approve of christian rock at all...but i guess if it's the other way around then like i odn't think he would care at all.....i mean it IS about him right? (christian rock) plus singing so slowly is a bit boring....rock is TOTALLY the way to go....
