According to Morris in his book Outrage, over 9 million came here on visas in 2005 and one third or 3 million hid out in the country after the visas expired. So over a ten year period means 30,000,000 and they are from all over the world. This makes the 15 million illegals from south of the border, which could be a bogus number look small. If true then we can stop that many by stopping visas now. At least not let them fly in or what ever!

Because they are the smallest aspect of the problem. How about expanding that 15 million from south of the border out 10 years TOO? Using that yard stick, we'd have 30 million visa overstays and 150 million illegals from south of the border.

Now do you see how ridiculous that looks? Let's stick with today's numbers. 3 million overstays and 15-25 million from south of the border. This makes the 3 million overstays number look small.

Hillary solved the New York Licensing solution. What a gal! She can't talk illegal immigration or many nor the candidates because they want their votes. There are just a few congressman who are supporting the ousting of illegals. More support is occurring to secure the border. As time goes on more of the officials especially along the border states are proactive. The two imprisoned security guards latest story just broke. Sutton is in trouble. I think this will free the guys and stir things up. I'm sure this will usher in more support to back up the border patrol. Couldn't happen at a better time, wouldn't you say.

Oh, but they have. The term illegal immigrant applies to ANYONE who is not here legally regardless of how they got here.

Laws that focus on proper paperwork and checking social security numbers will affect visa overstays the same as border jumpers.

As for the numbers given, they are inaccurate and have been purposely listed at the highest possible level for maximum effect. Nothing is said about what percentage of that number are those who had a lapse in their status that was corrected later or what percentage of those that did overstay but who also left. (as an example, college students whose time has run out but overstayed by a semester to finish off a class or two to graduate)

It is all part of a major problem. The reason that the politico's don't want to address this part of the problem is that by concentrating on only parts of the problem they can make it look much smaller than it really is. This helps the politico's dampen down some of the outrage the American people feel towards the invading border criminals.
