The stoning of Stephen starting in Acts 6.

What I love about this story is the fact we read that Jesus is seated at the right hand of God.

When Stephen sees The heavens open, he sees Jesus STANDING at the right hand of God.

John 8:1-11 - The woman taken in adultery. Jesus knew she had committed a sin, but He also knew the man was guilty too, it's just that the scribes & Pharisees did not bring the man to be stoned. Jesus did not lecture her about how bad a person she was to have committed adultery, He simply told her that He did not condemn her, and to go and sin no more. He showed compassion and love, because that is what God is! God bless you!!!

Judges 19:14-29
An unnamed Levite visited the town of Gibeah in the tribe of Benjamin, with his slaves and a concubine. He met an old farmer and was made welcome. A gang of men appeared and demanded that the old man send out the Levite that they might homosexually rape, or assault him, or find out whether he was a threat to the town. (As in the similar story about Sodom in Genesis 19, it is again not clear what the precise meaning of the verb to know was). The old man argued that they should not abuse the visitor. He offered to give them both the Levite's concubine and his own virgin daughter to be heterosexually raped. The mob accepted the former, and serially raped her all night. She was able to make it back to the house, where she collapsed at the front door and died. The Levite had not bothered to check on her during the night; he only found her, dead, when he resumed his trip. He sliced up her body into 12 pieces and sent one to each of the tribes of Israel.

One of the most interesting stories in the bible to me comes from the book of Acts about how the Holy Spirit worked mightly through the Apostle Paul. He was so empowered by God that people were being healed from handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched Paul and evil spirits were leaving people. In Acts 19:13-19 it tells about how some Jews went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the authority of Lord Jesus over those who were demon possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out." Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this and one day the evil spirit answered them saying "Jesus I know, and Paul I know but who are you? Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all and he gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding. When the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus found out about what had happened they became so afraid that the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor. Many of those people became believers and openly confessed their evil deeds. Many of them were practicers of witchcraft, they burned their witchcraft scrolls in public and the Word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.

This story reveals how the evil spirits recognize and know who Jesus is and also know those who are filled with the power of Christ. They also know the counterfeits and those void of the power of God. God is not to be toyed with and neither is the devil.
