i hate going to the mall this time of year just because i hate when salesman trying to sell lotions and special nail and hair-growers or whatever to me because i cant stand just being a ***** to them and i refuse to. i know its hard for them try to sell those products to people and they have to get certain amounts in a day and all that. if im alone, i usally whip out my phone and pretend im in a really serious conversation as i am passing. but when im with my boyfriend or something, they practically grab me and i HAVE to hear their whole shpeal and then after theyve rubbed lotion all over my hands and explained how it was squuezed from magic lotion berries in west africa by hungry children or whatever. what do i say?

Politely say "no thank you" and keep walking. Politeness never goes out of style. The fake talking on the cell phone is very transparent. Go with firm politeness

Just either walk away and say nothing or just be polite and say you don't want any but thank you or when that doesnt work tell them you already bought it last week or 2 weeks ago and or just get mad and tell the really pushy ones especially the ones with the stuff that makes your finger nails shiny, I dont want any! I had to do that once I wasnt feeling too great and I had been shopping too much for the holidays and was irritated because I could not find something I was wanting to buy. And I let the sales lady put it on my finger another time I went there and she thought she had a sale cause I was chimming in on her sales pitch. I have walked out of stores before because when you need a sales person they are not around and when you dont need one they are all around.
I really think that the holidays have become to overly commercialized anyways.
Really having time with the family and being good to each other and sharing special time together and having a nice meal is what it really should be about the memories.
Not who bought what or who got what.
Well hope you try one of these ideas they work for me, Or you could tell them that's not on my list, or look at your watch and tell them your late for an appointment.
Have Great Holidays!
Good Luck with the sales kiosks.

Try not to make eye contact. But if for some reason beyond your control you do and they walk up and start talking to you, then you do make eye contact (it's polite because they're talking to you now) say "I'm just browsing," and make a dismissive little wave with your hand and keep walking. They always nod their heads and pounce on the next guy.

I just keep walking, and say a firm, but polite,"No, thank you." If they keep hassling me, I just ignore them completely. I understand they are trying to sell a product, but when I say no I mean NO. I'm a very polite person, and I really hate being rude, but sometimes it's the only way to let these people know you're not interested.

I've been there, last holiday.
1. Don't make eye contact with them and keep on walking
2. Look them directly in the eye and say "Thank you" but "No, thanks"
3. Leave all cash at home, and say "I'm on a budget"
These types of salespeople take the fun out of shopping. Good luck!

Just say No!
Your money belongs to you, no one else.
You are not paid to be generous or compasionate, although you may well be. You decide where the money is to be spent after you have worked so hard to earn it, no matter how hard they try to make you feel otherwise.
Remember, they don't care about the cause they are representing, they get commision.
More money from you is more money in their pocket.
Pick the charities that matter to you and the one's that give the most to the people they represent.

if they grab you or come towards you with lotion, or perfume quickly say "no thanks, I am allergic" and walk away, you don't have to stay and listen to anything you don't want to, just say no thanks, or I'm not interested, anything. And if a salesman "grabbed" me or touched me in any way I would quickly point out that not only is that rude it could be against the law!

if they already "have" you just tell them politely "let me stop you right there, I am not interested." and if you feel its necessary for the sake of manners you can add a "thank you anyway."

I usually avoid eye contact with them. I also try to walk almost behind a small crowd, so they can't single me out. When it is unavoidable, I hasten my pace and tell them sorry I'm in a rush. For the lotion/ perfume vendors, tell them you work for a dept store with deep discounts. Good Luck.

I'm in sales and can tell you from personal experience many salespeople would much rather you just give them a firm "No thanks, I'm not interested." than lead them on with standing there listening to them. As for them grabbing you no salesperson who knows what there doing is going to do that as thats going to most definately lose you a sale right there. No one wants to be grabbed.

Roll your eyes and say "I own the factory producing that stuff. What makes your think I would buy it from you?" Then look at him straight and wait for the answer for a few sec., then walk...
He'll remember you and stop bugging you...
