can't i just believe in some higher power...but not follow anything?

No, you don't need a religion. You're a Deist - a person who believes in God or a higher power, but does not subscribe to any form of organised religion.

Yes really you need a religion on this earth.You can not just only believe that there are some higher powers but you do not follow any religion.Religion is needed because through religion God (the highest power) gives the life guide for humans.The last religion and its life guide given by God is Islam with its holy book Al Qur'an.Qur'an is a complete and logic life guide as the right path.By obeying the instructions and prohibitions of God as stated in the Qur'an we will have the happy and safety life on this earth and in the life after death..God is omnipotent and omnipresent.Qur'an was given by God more than 1400 years ago through Muhammad pbuh prophet...Just only have a believe so you do not have a clear system that should be followed.

If that's what you want to do then do it. But remember when the end comes where do you want to be? Believing in God is believing in a higher power. You've just clarified who and what this higher power is.

of course u dont need a religion..
I believe a higher power is *possible* ... but believe its far from the biblical god .. this higher power could be some kind of force that we could never comprehend.
you also dont have to believe in a higher power to be spiritual ..

why not go check out your nearest church, buddhist temple or mosque.
Sure you can just believe in some higher power, as long as you put your heart into it.
nobody can force you to believe in anything if you don't wanna
you may look at it this way;
a religion is
- something to look forward to in life and after death
- a guidance for believers to the path of righteousness
- to give an inner peace and reflection on ourselves during mass or in religious ceremonies.

No, you do not need a religion. You do however need a relationship with God.
No you cannot just believe in some higher power. What higher power would that be, the sun, it has power? The moon, it has power? The satellites in space> They are high in the sky and have power...

No you don't. And yes you can believe in a higher power without being affiliated with any religious group. If you do this you will be much happier.

Because you are created for a purpose. The Quran says :
MAn has been created to worship God"
Everything that we do in life has a purpose, we wear clothes for a purpose, study for a purpse. Even the drug addict has a purpose. Then how come life itself has no purpose??
This life is a test. You may say you will worship a higher power, but how?
Maybe God has something in store for you,like He has something for each one of us.

It's good to have a religion, I'm a Christian myself, but I pull out of several religions, I say follow your beliefs, and do good not because of the fact you may go to hell or because of the law, but because the world needs it. Just follow what you believe
