In the past twenty years, has Israel gained more territory or lost more territory? Also, geographically have they gotten larger or smaller in the past twenty years? I've searched all around to try to find out, but can't find anything. First person with right answer gets the points!

Geographically Israel has not changed since the Israel-Jordan Treaty of Peace http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel-Jordan_Treaty_of_Peace#Main_principles_in_the_agreement where Israel gave up 300 square kilometers to Jordan. Israels size have remained the same since (unless you consider Israeli withdrawl from the Gaza strip a relinquishing of territory of Greater Israel).

Good Luck!!!

I guess it depends how you define it. If the question is land under Israeli control, then in 1967 Israel increased greatly by taking Sinai, Gaza, Golan and the West Bank. In 1982 Israel decreased when it returned Sinai to Egypt for peace. A couple of years ago it decreased again when it withdrew from Gaza. If you consider land that is considered officially a part of Israel, then Israel has remained at a constant size since 1967, as no final border agreement has been reached to accept annexation. If the question is land Israelis currently live on, then that area decreased after the Sinai evacuation and the Gaza evacuation, but has been growing slowly from settlements in the West Bank. However, since no one knows how many of those settlements will actually be part of Israel (none of Gaza or Sinai settlements are still around after all), that would be a misleading criterion.

The UCR, or Uniform Crime record, released each and every year via the FBI, has shown a delicate decrease in violent crime for a minimum of two decades, mutually because it exhibits a delicate develop in property crimes. Is that what you're asking?

Actually the size of Israel has increased if you take into account the number of settlements which have been built on arab land.
This source taken from an Israeli newspaper:
A secret, two year investigation by the defense establishment shows that there has been rampant illegal construction in dozens of settlements and in many cases involving privately owned Palestinian properties.
The information in the study was presented to two defense ministers, Amir Peretz and his predecessor Shaul Mofaz, but was not released in public and a number of people participating in the investigations were asked to sign non-disclosure agreements.
According to security sources familiar with the study, the material is "political and diplomatic dynamite."

There are 267,500 Israelis living in 122 settlements, in the West Bank according to government statistics.

Yes Israel is smaller than New Jersey, but if you compare the West Bank to Israel, it is the size of a Walnut. Why can't the immigrants live in Israel? Beats me, Cheers!

Shanti hareetz is not an israeli newspaper, I thought it would be objective. Don't the settlements have to take up a certain area of land? 145 hectares (357 acres) of state land and 23 hectares of private land that had been confiscated this year, not to mention the 65 hectares in 2004. One cannot count this land? the confiscation of land belonging to the villages of Abu Dis, Arab al-Sawahra, Nebi Musa and Talhin Alhamar would "rob many villagers of their sole livelihood" but would also "facilitate the big annexation plan known as E-1, which is aimed at linking the settlement of Ma'aleh Adummim with Jerusalem and cutting the West Bank in two."

Well if you consider Gaza no longer part of Israeli territory then on the past 20 years would be considered a slight territorial loss.
