A guy doesn't think a virgin is hotter, he just feels hotter himself being 'the first'. That means the girl has had no one with whom to compare him. He's had no competition, so it's bound to make him feel important, even if he's a clumsy or clueless 'performer'.
There's a certain responsibility in taking a girl's virginity, but it's seldom thought of. To some guys, the immature ones, it's being 'the first' that's a ego-boosting turn-on. Love is seldom a consideration, which is sad for him and for the girl.

I asked my male students what type of girl they would want to marry, a virgin or one that had been around, everyone wants to marry a virgin; but now a days it seems that being a virgin is a bad thing that calls for being ridiculed by friends that know he or she is one.

Depends. If the person has just done it none, once or twice, i'd be fine. But if they have had it over 3, its a turn off for me.
