I am a freelance photographer.. A gentleman from the next town over has hired me to do some headshots to use in his advertising (He's a real estate agent). He and I have been e-mailing back and forth setting up the appointment and figuring out what exactly he needed to get out of his session with me. He's been very kind and easygoing- and has already pre-payed for his session through my website.

Tonight, I received an e-mail from him telling me how much he's "looking forward" to his appointment with me and asking if he could take me to dinner after our session to "repay me for being such a good sport" through his several appointment postponements.

I think he's wanting a date- I'm not sure. I'm happily married and not at all interested. My photo is on the "about me" page on my website, and I didn't think anything at the time, but he did mention that I looked "Young and pretty" a few days ago.

How do I get out of this one?

Thank him kindly for his offer, but you have to decline, you have to get home to take care of your family.

Simply say, "You have been fine. There is no need to repay me for being a good sport. In this line of work we have all sorts of rescheduling of appointments."

And then let it lie.

If he brings up going out again, just say, "Thank you for the offer, but I am married."

He will stop. And if not... well, once he gets the pics from you, don't respond to any more of his emails.

Hes been cancelling the appointments so he can move on to asking you out as a form of ''APOLOGY''

Hahaha, I thought he was just being nice until you got to the "young and pretty" part. I agree with the "thanks, but I have to get home to the wife and kids" response. Good luck.

good luck. but if i were you, i'll just be honest and tell me what you feel.

its better than trying to hide from him - i mean he is still and was your client.
