lmao. Anybody can get addicted to anything.

Having said that, yep, been there, done that, tried cocaine. What a rip! My throat was numb for like 5 minutes, I felt high for maybe 10, and was horny for all of 15 minutes! And... that was it! It was such a rip off!!!!

Funny - I once thought of myself exactly how you're describing yourself.....no addictive personality, I'll just stop, mind over matter, etc......it's bull. Even though cocaine was not my drug of choice and I hated the high it gave me (paranoia, anxiety), I still couldn't put it down and I couldn't stop. Because of cocaine (and other drug use), I've been to two inpatient rehabs after losing absolutely everything I ever had. Be smart - just don't try it. What's your plan exactly if you end up loving it? What's your plan when you find out that you do, in fact, have an addictive personality? Do you think that no one ever became an addict simply from being curious? Be careful. You can OD and die from much less than one gram. Plus, you never know what the **** is cut with these days, so if the cocaine itself doesn't kill you, you need to think about all the other **** you're snorting too....

I want you to know that I signed up just to answer your question. I was researching a radio contest question.
I think you are smarter than that. First, you did ask the question, so I know that you are really questioning whether or not, you and your friend(???) should even attempt this.
You should talk to my daughter. After using for several years, she is finally shaking that monkey off her back. She went on the methodone program about 2 yrs ago. Research methadone...you have to take it daily and you have to pay for each script you receive. (More money) She has kicked that, she had to go to detox and then she was in therapy for 3 wks. and she attends Narcotics Anon. and Cocaine Anon meetings. Her habit has cost her a great deal of money and self respect. She is a college grad. has a fantastic job, (which is now in limbo because of past activities) She has a great deal of debt that she has to deal with. Smashed her brand new car and of course the insurance payments for the next one will be sky high.
LISTEN to what everyone has said to you here. She thought the same as you and all the other people that thought they could handle it too. They have all paid heavily whether it be money, friends, family or their life.
Your friend is not thinking of you...a friend watches out for you.

I was just like you a couple years ago. It can make you feel horny, but it can also make you paranoid, jittery, and very anxious. When you snort it, you get 'high' only for about 15 minutes--so you'll be coming down very fast (and then want/need more and more...)
Anyway. Yeah, I was just like you. And then a year later I was in in-patient rehab.
It seems like you have your mind set on it, so I doubt that anything I say will change anything, but I wish it would. For the sake of your physical and mental health, and the health of those around you, I hope that you choose to do what a strong person would do and not start to walk down a path that will inevitably lead to something bad.

Well first off its not mind over matter when your brain cells have been fried, and the chemicals in your liver starts rotting.

But anyway, Cocaine stimulants the central nervous system effects can last from 20 minutes to several hours depending on dosage.

Effects are hyperactivity, restlessness, increased blood pressure, increased heart rate and euphoria, twitching, paranoia, and impotence.

Hmmm... still going to take it. how about this:

With excessive dosage the drug can produce itching, tachycardia, hallucinations, and paranoid delusions. Overdoses cause tachyarrhythmias and a marked elevation of blood pressure and death from respiratory failure, stroke, cerebral hemorrhage, or heart-failure. 0.o

Cocaine may also greatly increase this risk of developing rare autoimmune or connective tissue diseases such as lupus, Goodpasture's disease, vasculitis, glomerulonephritis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome and other diseases. It can also cause a wide array of kidney diseases and renal failure. While these conditions are normally found in chronic use THEY CAN ALSO BE CAUSED BY SHORT TERM EXPOSURE IN SUSCEOTIBLE INDIVIDUALS!!!

And its illegal. The end. have fun rotting in the grave.

DON'T DO IT YOU WEAK WILLED DOLT!!!!

It kept me up all night, I felt horrible, I was really shaky, felt like I just drank about 64 cups of coffee but yet I didn't want to move. I talked all night long and chewed on anything I could get my hands on. After staying up for 2 days and thinking I was hearing people, I had to lay down for about 4 hours until I finally fell asleep. And yes, I've done that more than once because I'm stupid. Oh and I didn't want to have sex on it, all I wanted to do was talk, which I ended up making up billions of lies just so I could keep talking.

EDIT: I will never touch the stuff again and I suggest you dont!

Here's the best information anybody can give you...

Don't ever try it, not even once. What the heck are you two thinking anyway, don't you know that stuff is really bad?

If you want a rush and feel something great, try getting involved helping others and doing something good in the world, not being foolish with your body and mind. Be smart.

Oh my god. I really hope you do some book learning on the subject. Just don't do drugs. You won't want to stop once you start. You know it is poison, don't you? Every addict starts out thinking just like you. It's not a glamourous life by any means. Stay in school, and say no to drugs. Do yourself a favour, and find some new friends.

Taking a little line is sure to ensure that you won't want to do it again. Who ever told you that other stuff is clueless. You should check out some reference material on the subject. I don't know how old you are, but sometimes, it's just better to never try things that you know that you don't want to end up liking to do. You don't want to like cocaine, right?

this thinking "I can drop whatever anytime" is stupid thinking. This drug can get you hooked before you can blink an eye. It is not mind over matter. Soon, you will be wanting more and more of this stuff and you will be selling your soul to get more. After you have lost your job, your friends, your home and your health, you will wonder why you ever even thought about trying this stuff. If you want to have lots of sex, do it without the drug. You're playing with fire.
