the squier Jazz pack. Do not get the P bass pack. You won't get big amps with combo packs. The P bass neck on the squier is too thick and does not feel good. The jazz bass is very versatile, and i would recommend it for jazz, rock, blues, and even metal

You're better off NOT getting a package. Get a Squier Vintage Modified P-Bass or an Ibanez GSR200 or 300. Then get a Behringer BXL3000. (300 watts) You'll have decent stuff for under $500. If you go with a cheap package - you'll want better stuff in a year.
