I have found a dog that I would like to adopt on the Adopt-A-Pet website that is run in conjunction with the RSPCA. I was wondering if anybody would know the cost of adopting a dog through them and what the process is.

I've seen people pay over 300 bucks to adopt a puppy. They require neutering, shots, etc. before you can take the pooch home. So basically, the same people who cant afford to buy a dog, cant afford to save a dog's life either.

The cost is

8 - 16 week old pups $263
16 week - 8 year old dogs $238
over 8 years old $143
All dogs/pups are desexed, wormed, vaccinated, and microchipped. You also get 1 months free Pet Insurance a VIP card and a bag of dog food.
That is at Fairfield RSPCA.

Usually the website has all those details, or a contact you can call and ask.

From my experience, it has ranged from anywhere between $200 and $400, and the animal comes de-sexed, vaccinated and micro-chipped - so all you need to do is contact your local council and register them.

Good on you if you do adopt a dog, more people should be out there doing it..
