Ya regular health check ups are good in general. As for the age from which one should have them it depends on a lot of factors. It depends on your family history your age and sex.
Generally its recommended that after 40 yrs you should visit your doctor once a year and dentist once in 6 months. Before 40 you should go once in 2-3 years
