My grandmother is 66 and has been suffering with a variety of illnesses. The possible symptoms are: severely enlarged spleen, leg numbness (possible neuropathy from diabetes,) leg swelling (sometimes severe), mini stroke, increased appetite, fatigue/energy loss, short term memory loss (can't remember a phone call five minutes previous), indigestion, severe hot flashes, occasional diarrhea, some sort of foot fungus, and pulmonary edema. Other conditions she's had/has included congestive heart failure, diabetes, OCD, and anxiety/panic attacks. She's been tested for both anemia and leukemia, both results negative. She gets frequent blood transfusions, and even though she has O+ blood, it's difficult to find a match due to some abnormality with her antibodies.

Any ideas are extremely appreciated. Her doctors have been less than helpful thus far and I'm hoping someone out there can figure out what's wrong and help her. Thank you

The disorder with the spleen is really my concern, its enlarged to the point that she looks like she's 9 months pregnant and the doctors have no idea why. I really only listed everything else in case they could be possible symptoms of one disorder versus her having five different issues appear at once.

Hello, sorry to here about your grandmother. have you thought about switching doctors or getting a second opinion. you should definitely see a heart specialist. my grandmother is 78 and has some of the same problems not the spleen problems but strokes, swelling, numbness, fatigue, and memory loss that is not quite as severe (probably due to the stroke). the swelling is important to address to my grandmother has to take a diuretic or the swelling on her heart could kill her. do some research on docs in your area and see if you can find a doc in your area that specializes in organs like the spleen. I will pray that everything turns out well for you. good luck stay strong she will need you.

Well....congestive heart failure, diabetes, OCD, and anxiety/panic attacks can cause nearly all, if not all of her symptoms. Is she being treated for these disorders? Is she taking any medication?

She has a variety of diseases. All of them have different symptoms. What are you trying to ask exactly?
