((ariana)) I hear your fustrations. I know I have them too. So many times I just want to give up. Give up asking. Give up caring. Then there are times like yesterday. I had a really good bible study and I felt nourished. But I do know we need more then just spiritual nourishment because we also live in the body. I don't know what you are asking for specifically but I will pray for you too. I know you probably don't want to hear all everyone has to say - "God's time" because when I hear this I say yea but I am living in MY time. You know? What is comforting me while waiting on God's time? I'm reading the word til it comes out of my ears and praying. I know about the years go by and still waiting for Him to answer a prayer. Hang on. I am praying for you.

Firstly, I am going to assume that you're speaking of an addiction of yours since this is the national prayer of addiction.

The first step to recovery is you actually WANTING to recover. Nobody else can WANT to stop the addiction more than you. I found that out the hard way.
When I joined Narcotics Anonymous I so wasn't ready to join. I wasn't ready to give up the drugs. The drugs became such a big part of my life that they were like my best friend.
Basically it's all up to you to grant yourself the serenety to accept things you cannot change. You give yourself the courage to change the things that you can. And you give yourself the wisdom to know the difference. God is there to see you through it. To be your guide, especially in this hard a time for you. Only you can make the serenity prayer happen. Not God. He just gives you strength through it all.

If you aren't speaking about an addiction, well... all I can tell you is to never give up your faith in Him, even if it sounds like he's not listening.

Good luck.

Spiritual maturity is the work of a lifetime. It includes learning to trust that God knows what is best for us to perfect our characters. Sometimes we are allowed to experience difficult things to make us stronger and those observing how we deal with things stronger from our witness as well. Sometimes we are disappointed with the choices our family and friends make but what we need to know is that their character and personality belong to them and God, not to us. Once we understand it then it is like lifting a burden off our backs. My prayer for you is to accept what cannot be changed and focus on things in your life that can be changed. God has three answers to prayer...Yes, No and Maybe later.

Just do your best to fallow God's direction. If you trust in Him He will guide your path. Well, if you accept Him as your Christ and Savior, he actually lives in you. Know that no matter what that God is with you and want your best. If something don't work out it is because He has something better waiting for you. Repent from your sin, Ask his help and live your life.

Take a risk of Faith. God is bigger than the devil.

ariana, it is so odd how I turn to R&S and your question is the first I see on my starred list. Just this morning I was praying about my brother, he has gotten himself into some trouble and it has been over 6 years now. I was asking God, "how long oh Lord until my prayers are answered?"
I felt ashamed in the attitude in which I was asking and asked God to forgive me. I don't know what you are praying about and don't need to know but how about you pray for my brother, his name is David, and we will pray for you.
The bible says in Matthew 18:19 Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."

This is of course if we are asking something in accordance with His Word.

He will.....He has promised!

"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change"

(promise) "...and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Hebrews 13:5

"The courage to change the things I can"

(promise) " My grace is sufficient for thee, for my strength is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinth. 12:9

"and the wisdom to know the difference"

(promise) "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it SHALL be given him." James 1:5

These are promises for you to claim specifically.....just pray them back to God. God cannot lie. (Titus 1:2)

I will pray for you to believe, LISTEN to what God tells you....then don't go by your feelings...just DO what He says. Fall on your knees and pour your heart out to God...He is RIGHT THERE waiting to hear you! He wants your participation too. Read His Word, it is from Him to YOU!
Email if you would like to talk to someone. God bless you.

Keep asking in faith and dont give up. Jesus said to keep on prqying .......

Luke 18:1-8 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith .And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

You probably just recite the words without really thinking about what you are saying. When you pray you need to have a clear mind about what you are asking. Visualise what you want. Whatdo you want God to give you specifically?
