Spiritual people (like Christians), can have perfectly happy and constructive lives, without taking use of atheism. Doesn't that indicate, that the use of atheism is obsolete?

Personality doesn't exist in all forms of Buddhism but rather a 'philosophic other' or an 'impersonal other'. This means that love which applies to personality as we know in the West because of the Bible has a very different meaning to the Buddhist monk. When a Buddhist monk talks about personality he must borrow his definitions of these things from the Bible because all other belief systems lack 'personality'. This is why Pol Pot can think nothing of killing many people. To the West he killed people according to the biblical tradition but to pol Pot he was killing something else. The Russian's are the same because they openly reject the Bible and absolutes as does all the sciences. So living side by side takes on a whole new meaning when you consider where some peoples thought forms are developed from in contrast to others. In reality there are only two chairs, the open system of the Judeo Christian system where outside of humanity is a personal infinite creator God or the closed system that is shut up to the area of the finite minds of men and women.

Sure, atheists and Buddhists can be happy and constructive without believing in any Gods.
However, some people have religious experiences of Gods. This is just one reason why the belief continues.

prove to me that there is a god (for the believers)
I am atheist only because I have yet to be convinced I should be otherwise
...nice question, although some people need to believe in something because they are not strong enough on their own....I say let them believe if it makes them happy, but I want proof when they start talking about the existence of god to me. and I don't mean tell me to look at a freaking sunset! there are scientific reasons behind natural beauty such as that!

yes. religion is no longer needed in a society which already understands the concept of morality without having the fear of a vengeful god. unfortunately, if every american realized there was no god, people would no longer think they had a purpose. they wouldn't care about doing good and the quality of life in america would fall dramatically.

Yes, and no,
without the guidance of some magical mystical being many people would be lost,
not all people are able to go into the world without the guidance and security that religion provides....
let them have their delusions, as long as they are happy
