The dreams are weird, sometimes not good. But they are every nite since I started to meditate. Is there a correlation? Is it a good thing? Bad?

Since your dreams have started when you started meditating I would suggest that you meditate on wonderful things. It would be a good idea to keep a pencil and paper on your nightstand and make notes of the dreams. Usually dreams are just your mind playing while it doesn't have to worry about your body while you're sleeping.

Actually it's normal to have dreams that are weird, good, bad and unexplainable. When you meditate, you put yourself into a sub-conscious state of mind. You're normal brainwave patterns probably are slowed down due in part to the relaxation of the mind and body. Thoughts that you've repressed, have through out the day, or issues that you're currently dealing with sort of "mesh" together because you mind is working, but not working so to speak (you're still conscious, but at a relaxed state). So when you fall asleep your (I hope I get this right) sarcadian rhythm (the state you're in before and during deep sleep) kicks in and all those thoughts that you have brought to surface now are playing like movies in your head. You see things you've saw before, but don't remember seeing, you recall things that have happened in the past and they're now intermingling with things you hope will or will not happen in the future.

Those electrons go crazy when you sleep because I think they fire off more rapid when your in a dream state (or rim sleep), and your mind starts to conjour things from the deep dark depths of your soul (sounds spooky don't it). It's nothing to worry about, just keep a journal of your dreams and pick out the things in them that makes them unique to you. Try to figure out why the events in your dreams unfold the way they do and relate them to things happening in your life in both the past and present. Trust me when I say you're not the only one who experiences this.

If anyone out there disagrees and knows the correct terminology please feel free to correct me. But I think I used the right terms and explanations. If not, look more into it and to make sure I'm on the right track.

Of course there is. Meditating, as you know, is a way of relaxing yourself and calming the mind. If you meditate before you go to bed, it is most likely that mind can be more able to remember more REM dreams when you wake up. Basically, Meditating kind of helps encourage lucid dreaming when you go into the REM phase and the result is you being able to remember more of dreams than you previously were able to.

It's normal. Depending on how you meditate (I concentrate on my breath, sometimes my awareness, sometimes philosophy/reflection) you'll get different things out of it. By bringing realizations closer to the surface, and realizing that they are there, you will dream on them, whether you intentionally or unintentionally repressed them. Look up Sigmond Freud. He explained the meaning of dreams as an outlet for repressed emotion. Just write down the dream when you wake up and ask someone like a shrink you might know (not because you're insane like me, but because they studied Freud and psychology before)

Yes, meditating is a way to open a certain thinking part of the mind. And dreams are a reflection of thoughts, so yeah.

I'm sure it has happened to other guys before but it is not common. Are you think of your mother because you feel guilty about masturbating? Do you think she would not be happy about what you're doing and that's why your thinking about her? Masturbation is very normal so don't worry about parents with old school beliefs.

it may not be a bad thing, per se. i have been analyzing my dreams for over 15 years, and i will tell u that your third eye is open, and your dreams are trying to tell u something. It isn't good or bad, it just is. Try getting a book about dream interpretation, if u want. The one i have is over 10,000 dreams interpreted, but the one I trust is by Lady Stearn Robinson,.Any how, good luck!

dreams are mind made. have a more positive look on life. usually with bad dreams, it means ur doing something wrong or troublesome things may happen soon in ur real life. bad dreams are to get ur attetion. if it is when u started meditating, it could mean that its not for you.

I wouldnt do it before you sleep because meditation stimulates the brain and puts u into a sleeping trance the dreams are a consequence of doing it so late without any way to burn off the stimulation giving ur brain deeper thought.=deeper thoughts while you sleep=dreams...

I think it is because I have them to if you think about something you may have dreams about it. For Example I like this girl Mary Pat I think abaut her and have dreams about her
but if they are bad dreams just stop meditating for a few days.
