Joe Gibbs is no fool. Neither are the top brass at Toyota. Toyota took it on the chin this past year, but don't think for a second that they didn't learn a whole lot. Gibbs could have made this jump last season when Toyota arrived on the scene, but he is wise enough to let others suffer the growing pains. The Toyota operation is very strict about sharing information amongst all their teams and JGR will reap the rewards of the suffering of MWR and Red Bull Racing. I wouldn't expect them to sweep Daytona, but don't be surprised if at least 2 JGR cars wind up in the chase next season and their success will do nothing but help all the other Toyota teams. We are likely on the verge of seeing just what a power Toyota can be.
Having said that, I'm Ford blue through and through and although I predict, I won't be liking it.

Gibbs Racing is the team that will make Toyota win. Tony and Kyle are gonna make a good name for Toyota. I think Chevrolet has the best drivers. Ford of course has Kenseth and Edwards, Chevrolet has Gordon, Johnson, Junior, and Truex. And the oldschool favorite Dodge has Kurt Busch and a guy who always ranks high in qualifying Ryan Newman. Not to mention all the women who dig Kasey Kahne, who will be driving the Budmobile. But... Yeah! Joe Gibbs "guys" are going to get the job done in 2008, and I think it's totally cool. You know why? Because the motors and chassis that they're using is pure NASCAR. And that's all that matters.

NASCAR gets both.Toyota a major team and Gibbs a big contract.
NASCAR gets a win.

I think that they will over time. But look how long it took Dodge to take off. It will take time, but I think the JGR will be just the team to do it. Smoke will not stay if he does not win any races and Toyota knows it and Gibbs.

Toyota has been improving steadily throughout the season, and with a team like JGR running their product, they should only get better.
Joe Gibbs is commited to winning, and having a driver like Tony Stewart can give legitimacy to their brand if he can compete at the same level he's been at the past few years.

Absolutely. They will forge the template for Toyota success. They rule n CTS right now, and it;s just a matter of time with the Sprint Cup.
JGR has a lot on the line with Tony and can't afford to screw this up.

Sure why not...You have to remember that Toyota has been making cars for 50 years, and has sponsored all kinds of racing...Joe Gibbs may be the one to turn the tide for their nascar program...He obviously sees something that some of the other owners don,t...Could it be fat sums of corporate money?

Tony, Denny, and Kyle with Toyotas! Jeff, Jimmie, Jr with Chevys! Next years season will be the battle of JGR and HMS. I predict 80% of the races will be won by those two organizations.

With the money Toyota is putting into the team, and technology, I'd say they have a shot at it, but I won't happen over night. Only time will tell...cause Smoke won't stick around if he doesn't win..
