Stopping this natural body SYMPTOM means preventing your body from DETOXIFYING. There is no reason why you should not flush out what your body is trying to eliminate as fast as possible.

Trapping toxins can be seriously detrimental to your health!

You want it to stop? Crap everything out until your empty, and eat what your body won't reject.

If you have acute diarrhea persisting over two days or chronic diarrhea, see your doctor.

Causes:

* Bacterial infections. Several types of bacteria consumed through contaminated food or water can cause diarrhea. Common culprits include Campylobacter, Salmonella, Shigella, and Escherichia coli (E. coli).

* Viral infections. Many viruses cause diarrhea, including rotavirus, Norwalk virus, cytomegalovirus, herpes simplex virus, and viral hepatitis.

* Food intolerances. Some people are unable to digest food components such as artificial sweeteners and lactose—the sugar found in milk.

* Parasites. Parasites can enter the body through food or water and settle in the digestive system. Parasites that cause diarrhea include Giardia lamblia, Entamoeba histolytica, and Cryptosporidium.

* Reaction to medicines. Antibiotics, blood pressure medications, cancer drugs, and antacids containing magnesium can all cause diarrhea.

* Intestinal diseases. Inflammatory bowel disease, colitis, Crohn’s disease, and celiac disease often lead to diarrhea.

* Functional bowel disorders. Diarrhea can be a symptom of irritable bowel syndrome.

Seriously, have some oat bran. I guess you can eat it raw by sprinkling it onto a bowl of cold cerial. Or cook it as a hot cerial. Or mix Oat bran and regular oatmeal together and cook it as one hot cerial. Or go to a health food store and get a hot cerial that is a mixture of a whole lotta grains. Cook it at a ratio of 1 part cerial to 3 parts water or milk. It tastes better with milk, but I would recomend soy milk instead of regular milk.

It might be better to avoid wheat and get other grains in a hot cerial.

After you cook it add some cinamin.
Sprinkle on flax seed after cooking. You get more nutrients from the flax seed when they are raw. Flax seed will look like little mushy insects if you cook it in the cerial.

Last decide if you want to add sugar or salt. Sweet or salty? Or ad nothing if you want.

Also try just eating a basic diet of fruit, grains, and vegatables until this passes.

Loperamide (brand name Imodium-AD) is a commonly used over-the-counter antidiarrheal medicine. It can help decrease the frequency of stools and reduce stomach cramping. Loperamide can also help limit the loss of water and minerals. It works by relaxing and slowing movement in the intestines. If you are experiencing gas with diarrhea, you can use a combination antidiarrheal and antigas product, such as Imodium Advanced.

Another popular over-the-counter medicine is Pepto-Bismol (generic name bismuth subsalicylate). Pepto-Bismol can be used for mild diarrhea and can help relieve an upset stomach or heartburn. Do not take this product if you are allergic to aspirin or have recently had chickenpox or the flu.

If your diarrhea is mild, try an adsorbent diarrhea medication. These products remove excess liquid from your intestines and form bulk. Popular adsorbent remedies include Kaopectate antidiarrheal liquid and Kaopectate antidiarrheal caplets.

For alternating bouts of diarrhea and constipation, consider a product containing polycarbophil. This ingredient is similar to the adsorbents--it removes excess liquids from the intestines and is safe and effective for treating diarrhea and constipation. Examples of products containing polycarbophil include drugstore.com fiber laxative caplets and FiberCon. Don’t use any diarrhea medication for more than 48 hours.

Easier way, with no serious chemicals is Metamucil (or store brand equivalent). In less than a week, it stopped and I was, how shall I say it, regular. Now I drink a glass every other day and no more problems. I know, I know, most think Metamucil is for constipation, but it works for diarrhea by helping the body naturally regulate itself. Cheaper that Imodium, too!
