Bushmills is made in Northern Ireland and Jameson is made in the South, but up until a couple of years ago, they were owned by the same people - IDL. And Blackbush contains grain whiskey from the distillery in which Jameson is made...
Personally, I prefer the Jameson brand in general, although Bushmills has produced some masterpieces, like the Bushmills Millennium 1975. They are also going to produce something wonderful next year, as it is "kind of" their 400 year anniversary.
Bushmills only make malt whiskey, which is triple distilled. As I said above, for their blends they add this to grain whiskey produced in Midleton, where Jameson is now made.
At the Midleton distillery, they make a "more traditional" Irish whiskey. This is produced from a mash of malted and unmalted barley, giving it a very distinctive Irish taste.
The same distillery also makes Redbreast, which would be my favourite Irish whiskey. It is a pure pot still and comes as either a 12-year-old or a 15-year-old - the latter being the better one, in my opinion.
The other Irish distillery is Cooley, which makes double distilled whiskey, similar in style to some scotches. The owners of this have re-started a small boutique distillery in Kilbeggan too, but none of its whskey has matured yet.
Other great Irish whiskeys are Jameson 12, Jameson 18, Jameson Gold, Midleton Very Rare, Green Spot, Connemara 12, Tyrconnell and Tullamore Heritage.
And if you have really deep pockets, there's Midleton 25, Midleton 26 and Midleton 30, amongst others.

My Latin instructor in college was from Ireland. He was catholic and said that catholics made Jameson's and protestants made Bushmill's. In Ireland, the catholics drink Bushmill's (protestant) and the protestants drink Jameson's (catholic). Go figure. He and I both drank Bushmill's and I rather prefer it.

Bushmills is the only right answer for the protestants. Plus it tastes better that Jamison's or talimardo. But in my heart i will always crave Blackbush. mmmmm if only it wasn't so expensive n i didn't drink it sooooooo fast
