I'm 17 years old 5'7 and i weigh 113 and if i don't eat right the day before i go down to like 110. i really need to gain weight because my arms are so skinny and because I'm skinny i don't like to work out with my friends because I'm so weak. i also get tired real fast even though I'm athletic. i wear big, short sleeved, buttoned up shirts that cover up as much of my arms as much as possible. just so i can have a style i wear it in a hardcore Mexican gangster style but i don't feel anything like a gangster. i just want to be normal. i don't even worry about what i eat, i just eat what ever i want when ever but i still haven't gained nothing. i started to do push ups every morning and night until i could do at least 2 or 3 reps of 40 push ups but stopped when nothing happened. how do i gain weight?

Those who wish to gain weight will be doing just the opposite. Seek out low-volume, calorie-concentrated foods to pack in as many calories as possible without getting uncomfortably full.

Spread peanut butter on anything with which it is compatible. You may swirl peanut butter into ice cream, shakes or hot cereal, or use it as a dip for fruits and vegetables.

Add powdered milk to whole milk, shakes, gravies, pudding, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, casseroles and even meat loaf.

Drink two to three instant breakfasts or other nutritional supplements daily in addition to your normal intake.

Drink as many calories as you can. Drinking calories is less filling and allows more room for additional high-calorie food.

Use eggs to make French toast or add them to pancake batter, casseroles, soups, gravy and sauces. Add chopped boiled eggs to salads. You can also use egg substitute to enhance foods with protein.

Melt cheese on hamburgers, hot dogs, other meats, vegetables, tortillas, noodles and scrambled eggs—anything with which it is compatible. Add sliced cheese to sandwiches. Melt it in soups, casseroles and mashed potatoes, or use it as a topping for salads and crackers.

Use cream cheese on breads or graham crackers. Try melting it on vegetables, such as spinach, with cream cheese mixed in. Mix cream cheese with gravies, or use as a dip for fruits and vegetables.

Make trail mixes with high-calorie peanuts, almonds, cashews, granola and other cereals, and dried fruit. Place trail mix in a convenient spot and, every time you see it, you can grab a handful.

Use oils to fry foods. Use butter on vegetables and in hot cereal. Use mayonnaise on sandwiches and in mashed potatoes. Use bacon on sandwiches and crumbled on salads and baked potatoes. Use avocadoes as a dip or sliced on sandwiches. Use regular salad dressings and sour cream on potatoes, in soups, or as a dip.

oh, El Chino! I'm so little and skinny and have been all of my life! I used to hear "oh.. you're anorexic!" all the time in school, and then after I graduated and even when I dated years ago. I am 41 years old now. I have finally gained 20 lbs a few years ago when I had my gall bladder removed. I must tell you that there is a medicine called Reyglan (not sure on the spelling) and you can ask your doctor about it. I was using it before my gall bladder was removed because I had stomache problems and acid reflux. The reyglan really makes you hungry and you are able to eat a lot. It's not an expensive prescription to buy, so you should talk to your doctor and see what he/she says. By the way.... I was 5'3" and weighing in at about 89lbs at my worst. Now I weigh between 113-117. It fluctuates.

Well, stopping your exercise program won't help you gain weight. There really is no healthy way to gain weight.

The best way that I found was to drink whole milk, and half and half instead of reduced milk. If you drink half and half for a week or so, you will definitely gain wieght assuming you are eating right during meals.

But, some people are just naturally skinny. I was 150 pounds from 9th grade until I was 25. Then I started gaining weight gradually, and am now up to 225. So, it may just take time...don't rush it.

Umm.. First go to the doctors to have him check for tapeworms.

Second, you might want to get a drink called "Boost", that is specifically made to help people gain weight. Eat more, but not alot of junk food. And don't eat when you're full. You don't want to eat too much and end up having to LOSE weight, right?

i think you're jus naturally skinny then..if you keep eating and eating you will eventually gain weight. If you really want to gain weight you could eat food while sitting on the couch watching tv or eat food and then go to sleep. You might gain weight cus the food doesnt digest properly and is turned into fat

You need to eat not just 3 meals a day, but probably 6. Now don't freak out! I mean small meals that provide all the protein nourishment you need.

No junk food which has empty calories and no nutritional value. No sodas and limit coffee or any caffeine.

Well if you can't find time to eat, go to a store and but some protein suppliment. The shakes will help you at least have a steady constant weight. If you keep working out, you will get some meat on your bones.

Many teenagers are very thin, but they put on weight automatically as they grow older. This is because teenagers have a very high metabolic rate and burn calories fast. So teenagers should not try to put on weight by eating fatty food, since it is difficult to lose this fat later.
