No. There were protesters then too. There were work strikes, complaining about doing without and they did without many things.

I listen to XM almost all day long. When the sun goes down I switch to the Old Radio Programs. Abbot and Costello, Fibber McGee, Bob Hope, Jack Benny and others have shows from during the war and after. The complaints then are the same as now. Prices are high, tax is high, can't afford whatever. In one Fibber McGee there is a scene at a drug store. While the guy is ringing up the purchase he says " and 18% sales tax". These shows had live audences and they did not flinch at that line.

Well, all I gotta say is that WWII was officially declared. Whereas, every war since then has not. Iraq is not a war, it is an invasion if you want to be completely accurate.

Only indirectly, and it changed over time. At the start it was "as soon as possible" but, as the years rolled by and the costs/casualties mounted, it became "get it over with." This encouraged our commanders to make bold attacks (like Normandy and Iwo Jima) and use atom bombs.

Why is Pelosi still walking around free after causing Pakistan trouble...just to force supply cut off to our troops? When I saw video of a brother and sister running for their lives from bombing after she passes this resolution, I was furious. She put those children's lives in danger! WWII is SO different from now. They cannot be compared.

nope, but then again we retaliated against those who attacked us and their allies...going into Iraq after 9/11 is like invading Greenland after Pearl Harbor.
