a conversation with God

Prayer to me is time with God, talking to God about everything, what is going on in my life, asking for help, and giving thanks.

A bit of a song I remember, "take it to the Lord in prayer..."

Prayer is open dialog with God. I say dialog, because I believe it can [and often is] a 2 way communication. Prayer involves abandoning pride and humbling oneself to the extent that you are actually reachable and teachable. Since God does not usually force Himself upon us, this is the only state in which we are usable to Him.

It is just like a son sharing his inner-most thoughts, confessions and concerns with his Father. prayer should also involve the sincere giving of thanks.

Prayer is you speaking to God. Reading the Holy Bible is God speaking to you.

Just speaking to God. I don't really think reading a prayer is all that great though. If you really try to say it from your heart, then it is...most people feel better reading from a book or something. It's better for it to be from your own words and heart in my opinion. It's something that's comes from your heart that you say to God.

I think even just talking about your day to God is prayer. Prayer also gets you to know God so that you can actually come to love him.

Communication with your Creator....that guy said it all! I also think prayer is a great way to speak with God and Jesus Christ about things that you may not wish to speak with anyone else....that's what it's about for me. It's also my chance to ask for those things which are either out of my control, or out of my reach at the moment.

To me, prayer is listening and also loving so much that nothing else fills my mind. There are no words--or very few words--just the emotion.

Unfortunately, I am not advanced enough to do that perfectly. :P

First, a duty. But in my experience prayer is a separation, a euphoric and peaceful separation from this world.
