Muslims, if an Islamic regime managed to gain control of western countries, would things like this happen?

In case you didn't already know, the mutaween, a.k.a the "Virtue police", enforce Sharia ("Islamic" law.)

Some of the things which Mutaween arrest people for are:
- Unrelated males and females caught socializing
- Not conforming to Islamic dress-codes
- Selling or eating pork
- Selling or using alcohol
- Not closing your store during the "prayer times"
- Posession of consumer products and media regarded as un-Islamic (such as CDs/DVDs of various Western musical groups, television shows and film).
- Public display of non-Islamic worship
- Evangelism (other than Islam)

In May 2007 a man alleged to have alcohol in his home was arrested and reportedly beaten to death by the Mutaween members in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Do you think these kinds of things would happen in USA or UK, if Islam took over?

added: Those examples were from Saudi Arabia, not Persia (Iran)

added: I'm not worried about the "likelihood" in the near future. I'm just wondering if Muslims think it would be possible to impose Sharia standards on countries like UK and USA. A yes/no, and short explanation would be nice.

It happens every day in Western civilization but the court systems are too scared to criminalize this "religious" behavior.
The "enforcement" of Shuria law in a foreign country is usually conducted by family members. If you go to Detroit, Atlanta, New York, New Jersey, Chicago, any place with large Islamic populations, this enforcement rarely is reported to the secular police in the city and if it is, it is covered up by the community much like the gangs and mafia.

This is becoming more and more serious and we as americans must hold these people to OUR standard of law, not theirs. OUR constitution is supreme not theirs. Assimilate or leave.

1. Islam would not "take over" the U.S. or the UK.
2. There are muslim majority countries all over the place where this does not happen. A few of them (like Turkey) are secular and Malaysia, Indonesuia and Pakistan have ELECTED women as presidents or prime ministers, something we have yet to do in the United States
3. There would have to be not only a muslim majority but A MAJORITY WHO WANTED ISLAMIC LAW and they would have to agree on what Islamic law IS ( there is strong disagreement among muslims on this) before anyone even TRIED to implement muslim law.
4. I'm not sure I understand the concern since there are only 2-3% of the population here who is muslim and there is no sign that it would rise even to 10 or 15% within less than 100 years given current population trends (U.S.) there is NO CHANCE we would even come close to that!!!
5. The fact that there are IDIOTS in Saudi Arabia has no bearing on the muslims here. There are IDIOTS here too and belioeve me they are NOT all or even mostly muslim.

Your fears of a muslim "takeover" are unfounded ! !

Where the Muslim go wrong is by trying to rely solely and obey the law of moses.These commandments cannot be kept by them for they are a stubborn people is the utterance of Jehovah. Time upon time I have stretched out my hand and you have rejected my help is the utterance of the true God.
How can they expect a whole country to go by the mosaic law when not one of them can do it? That is why they need a redeemer. Who will help when I call? Who will remove this curse from me? Oh death where is thy sting? Soon their redeemer is coming to remove the evil one from among them and then their will be rivers flowing with milk and honey.

Have no doubt that there are elements of Christianity that wish to have total political control. They would not be much different that the Muslims.

That being said, the Islamic community of Great Britain is making attempts to impose their particular idea of right and wrong on the general public. Check out Pat Condell's videos on YouTube if you want some examples.

Of course - it's characteristic of that religion - and they oppress those of other religions, killing evangelists and those who convert out of Islam. That's Islam.
