This is a story from when I was in Rady Children's Hospital.
Med/Surg South
Okay so I had just eaten breakfast and was going to the game room, someone was walking in the same direction as me and I could only see them in the corner of my eye, so I turned and saw a girl with about 5 or more I.V.s on her. I said hi and she said hi back and then one of the nurses stopped her and said she had to have a nurse with her and to wait a few minutes. I continued walking and relized how lucky I was to only have on I.V. ampule in my arm.
The sad part was how innocently high pitched and quiet her voice was, it seemed like she didn't deserve to be in the hospital in that conditon.
She was around 6 years old.
Who finds that sad?

I'm glad she was receiving help.
she's VERY LUCKY to be able to have those IVs.
1.2 MILLION children in the world die every year simply because they don't have enough saline (water) for IVs to go around.
I won't feel sad for her. I'll feel strong for her.
I wish her luck!!

YOU just thumbed them down too.
maybe thats why they keep dying, because the rest of the world doesn't care.

It is sad...it's because children at that age are to be full of energy and not have a worry in the world. We think only older people deal with sickness and hospitals.
It's nice to see you have compassion for others...we'll just have to pray she's okay.

It's always sad when little ones are so ill. I've worked in hospitals 26 years, mostly in Emergency, but I know I don't have what it takes to work with children. I'd be in tears all the time.

Being sick is the most saddest thing that could happen to a person and their family...... thats why... when anyone thinks they are in a dilemma or have a problem... as long as ur healthy.. and ur family and loved ones have their health... everything else will work itself out eventually!

I think it is too sad to be true, she's only 6 and is experiencing tough stuff. I feel so sorry for her. I sometimes cry when I see a begger on the street.

OMG, that is so very sad. At six years old most of us were enjoying kindergarten. My heart and prayers go out to her. I hope she gets home soon with her health in tact. God bless her.

Sad. There is always someone worse off than we are. Be grateful.
