In order to do this, they would have to repudiate the Crusades, Inqusition, and intermitten anti-semetic outbursts during their entire Dark Age History.
By the time they got through with this, their would be nothing left. So no, they continue to strong-arm their way into government dealings, and ignore their past.

No serious scholar contests the evidence that Pius XII took direct and indirect measures to save Jews from the Nazi death machine.
At the start of World War II, Pope Pius XII’s first encyclical was so anti-Hitler that the Royal Air Force and the French air force dropped 88,000 copies of it over Germany. Here is a link to the Summi Pontificatus: Encyclical of Pope Pius XII on the Unity of Human Society, October 20, 1939: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/pius_xii/encyclicals/documents/hf_p-xii_enc_20101939_summi-pontificatus_en.html
Unfortunately the Soviet Union and others had been trying to convince the world that the Catholic Church was pro-Nazi since the death of Pope Pius in 1958. Here are some sources:

See also "The Myth of Hitler’s Pope: How Pope Pius XII Rescued Jews From the Nazis" by Rabbi David G. Dalin which has compiled further overwhelming proof of Pope Pius XII"s friendship for the Jews beginning long before he became pope.

For this answer in complete truth whether the Pope remained motionless during the great war is answered by the conversion of the chief rabbi of rome Isreal Zolli after the war on discovering how much the Pope actually did behind the scenes...
Is that in your history book ?

Hello,
Sigh - I think there are voices in the wilderness that disagree with this observation:
We share in the grief of humanity [at the death of Pius XII]…. When fearful martyrdom came to our people in the decade of Nazi terror, the voice of the pope was raised for the victims. The life of our times was enriched by a voice speaking out on the great moral truths above the tumult of daily conflict. We mourn a great servant of peace.
~ Golda Meir
No keener rebuke has come to Nazism than from Pope Pius XI and his successor, Pope Pius XII.
~ Rabbi Louis Finkelstein, chancellor, Jewish Theological Seminary of America
In the most difficult hours of which we Jews of Romania have passed through, the generous assistance of the Holy See…was decisive and salutary. It is not easy for us to find the right words to express the warmth and consolation we experienced because of the concern of the supreme pontiff, who offered a large sum to relieve the sufferings of deported Jews…. The Jews of Romania will never forget these facts of historic importance.
~ Rabbi Alexander Safran, chief rabbi of Romania
I suppose he could have sent his private army of 129 Swiss Guards armed with halberds to crush the Nazi war machine.
The previous pope as an analogy told Bush of his strong opposition to the invasion of Iraq and did not Bush ram his tail between his legs in shame and pull out of there?
Meanwhile it is the mark of a better scholar go to other sources and try and get both sides of the story to get a better rounded education on the subject.
Cheers,
Michael Kelly

You mean our current Pope?
He was forced into it, as many were- and yes by gun to his parents heads.
The church was never for ww2 and almost went bankrupt after helping to rebuild.
EDIT: oh, im not that old, so I honestly have no clue what you are talking about- im sorry.

No. Until time itself no longer exist, they will always claim they had nothing to do with starting WWII, or WWI for that matter.
