The Bible says that the demons are like the sands in the sea. That means there are demons and they are as real as you and I. I come from the Polynesian culture, Maori of New Zealand and the supernatural realm as many call it is default in Maori thinking. When Maori talk to each other they will always address their ancestry as if they are present. Philosophically or epistemologically they have no basis for this but my point is they understand the reality of what others call the 'other' side by default. Most indigenous peoples are like this. However many ghost stories arise and are taken out of context primarily because the whiter cultures have been out of touch with this side of life for millenia. In my culture the spirit side is very much alive and this is what binds Maori people so tightly together so much so that it has enveloped other cultures in New Zealand in the same way as if they are one. With a little theology we shall develope the Christian ethos to the next level.
