I currently have an '04 GC Laredo, '95 Laredo, and an '02 Liberty. What compenents do I like about the '04? Well, it's not something that I'd take offroading, but I know plenty of people who have turned their trucks into offroad monsters. Pure adrenaline junkies. Actually, that's what I use my '95 for, but I don't do half the things some people do. If you're looking for a good, sturdy, commuter truck, then an '04 is what you should look into. Out of all the WJs (which is the platform it was built on from 99-04, the '04 was probably the most reliable. And of course once they got all the nasty little bugs out of it, they redesigned the WJ and came out with WK. Not particulary the most attractive Jeep in my opinion. A good friend of mine has an '05 with barely 32,000 miles on it. She's now getting her second transmission put in it. She only uses it for driving to/from work and for running around the city. That's it. No off roading. I've been hearing mixed things about the WK, which is why I've stayed away from them so far.

If you drive a car right now and want to switch to a Jeep, then keep in mind you won't get nearly the same kind of mileage you get with a car. It's an SUV, so your miles per gallon will probably be about 20 on the highway. My WJ and ZJ both get about 17 in the city. The Liberty is even worse at 17 on the highway and 14 in the city.

Comfort? Of course. The Cherokee is a very nice riding SUV, but please remember it is an SUV and not a car. Don't be disapointed if you think it rides a little rough.

Reliability? Well, as I said, I think the '04 is the most reliable out of the years you're inquiring about.

Hope this helps you out a bit!
