I want to know if this is anxiety or not...

I think I may have anxiety about death and that kind of stuff...and sometimes ot freaks me out so bad that I might have to, i know this sounds kiddish but, walk into my moms room. Sometimes it gets me upset to the point where I might even start crying. About 2-3 years ago I had a similar fear except it was about dying in my sleep. But this is a different problem...Is this anxiety and is the only way to treat it to go to a therapist?

Also:::: Would this have to do anything with weird dream occurances??

I think I know what your talking about. I have panic disorder and it absolutely sucks. When I have panic attacks all I think about is 'I'm going to faint' or 'I'm going to die'. It is horrible. And when I'm not having a panic attack I'm either scared that I'm going to have one, or all I think about is death. I'm scared to die, and I think, 'how are people going about their lives so normally knowing that one day they are going to die? Why should I go to college and have a career when it isn't going to mean anything to me in the end, because I'm just going to die? why am i the only one who thinks about death this much?' and believe me there is much more than that. I go to a physciatrist to try and help me stop this negative thinking and overcome my panic attacks. I've only went a couple times, so it hasn't helped yet, but I'm hoping that soon it will. I know what your saying about going into your moms room and crying about it. I think about it so much that I end up crying myself to sleep.

I wouldn't suggest getting on medication, because that becomes addicting. If I were you I would find someone that specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy around you, just look for a physciatrist. Also, go to your library or local bookstore and get books on anxiety, panic attacks, self-help books, etc. They have helped me a lot because now I know what triggers my anxiety and panic attacks.

If you have any questions feel free to email me. Just remember your not alone with this!

You may have anxiety, but that can be controlled by you very easily.

It is all mind over matter basically. You have to focus on what is actually the truth about what is happening. For example; you suddenly feel fear about death. Ask yourself this; is what I am feeling now rational? Probably not. Then continue to tell yourself that and busy yourself with something that will take your mind off of it.

Also, watch your breathing, take slow deep breaths to calm yourself. And get some lavender oil, it is relaxing, you can put it on your wrists, pillow, in bath water.

If it continues to get worse even after you have really tried to control this yourself, then I suggest you see a counselor to talk about when this started.

I think this will pass as the other fear did. If you can, tell your mom about your anxiety about her. Perhaps your mom can reassure you. My kids used to come into my room and watch me breathe while I was sleeping. When I found out, they said they were afraid I might die. They grew out of it and I'm still here many years later.
I don't think your fear is that unusual.

Ah. Its probably anxiety and Paranoia.
You sound more paranoid, than anxious.
Try talking to your mom, and go to a doctor, they can help you with this =].

Whoa, the same thing happens to me. I used to stay up at night, jittering with fear, and run into my parents room at the smallest noise.
