I'd be happy to give you some names to look into, but you have to do the research and work yourself.

Roy Bienavidez
Mitchell Paige
Audie Murphy
Brian R. Chontosh
Paul R. Smith
Jason Dunham
Edward "Butch" O'Hare
Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller
Eddie Rickenbacker
Earnest Childers

That's just off the top of my head.

capt n mark, you forgot the one marine that slips everyone's mind. he ws gunnery sergeant john basilone, hero of gudal canal, charging the japanese with a water-cooled 30 cal machine gun blasing away and burning himself, awarded his first medal of honor.
the president and commandant, general holcomb wanted him on lots of bond tours, until the sergeant got mad, this heavyweight and muscle bound boxer wanted back in the fight and he married a lady marine in san diego shortly before he left to join the marines on iwo jima and the fighting, there again, he picks up a machine gun, charging the enemy, he is shot in the stomach badly, but continues fighting until out of ammo, then pulls out his .45 and keeps firing until he dies in the arms of his regimental commander, he is cited for heroism and awarded the 2nd medal of honor.
the road in camp pendleton bares his name-basilone road
