Last spring I went from 206 lbs to 185 in about 4 months. I researched how many calories I could eat to maintain my weight, and then resolved to eat about 300 calories less. I started out by writing down absolutely everything I was eating during the day and calculating from a calorie book how much that was. Over about a week I figured out what kind of meals I could have for breakfast, lunch and supper. I also ran for about 20 minutes a day.
I weighed myself every day first thing in the morning (nude) and recorded the weight. At the end of every week I averaged
the weight for the week. I noticed that my daily weight fluctuated, but the weekly average moved steadily down.
A lot of your work is going to be learning which foods you can eat lots of, and which you have to avoid like the plague - like all junk food, pop, and so on.
It is a science. You simply have to put a little less in your body than it needs, and exercise to build lean muscle.
Look up your "body mass index" or BMI on the internet.
If I can do it anyone can! I felt great after losing that twenty pounds and I can say it is still off. Do it! You will love yourself for it.

Losing 20 lbs. in 5 months is a reasonable goal. You need to cut out about 3750 calories per week to lose one pound that week. So you need to cut 500 calories per day. Do you drink a lot of calories, like soda, high fructose fruit juices, frappacinos? Just by cutting those in my diet, I got rid of about 300 unnecessary calories. Then add an activity like walking or jogging. You burn about 100 calories per mile, so walk 2-3 miles per day. Look for other parts of your diet that add unnecessary calories, like candy or sweets. Just by doing these simple things you will lose weight.

to lose weight to fast is VERY UNHEALTHY.
you didn't get that heavy in 3-5 months so don't expect to lose it that fast. remember you're still growing and your body is to young for rapid changes.
change your eating habits and start with light work outs and weigh yourself every day.
also remember to respect yourself no matter how much or how little you weigh.
and please, don't let this wanting to lose weight have anything to do with a boy...........please say it's not..
