he yelled at me almost daily never kept a job never took me out while i worked paid bills and took care of him like a son almost. i'm never gonna go back but where to now?

Good for you for realizing that you deserve better than the way he was treating you, and getting out of the relationship!
Now you need to spend time with friends, family, and other positive people. Meet new friends and possible men you could date. Take some time to heal and recover from your last relationship before you start looking for a serious relationship, but have fun. Now is also the time to try new things...new hobbies, take a class, anything you always wanted to do but always put off. This is a great way to meet new people...you never know where you'll meet a great guy! Right now you need to focus on you and what makes you happy!

Are you desperate?
Do you think you can do better?
Do want a better person than the one you had?
Do you deserve a better person?
Get in church hon, the LORD can help you answer all these questions and HE will hook you up with a decent man.Just watch his life for a while.He wont want to shack you, but he will want to marry you.
If he doesnt have a job, a place of his own his own car etc, then forget him.

Sounds like you need some you time to get things back together for yourself...you have to be happy before you can be happy with someone...so I would start there. Congrats for getting out of that and GL:)
