Mexican people are many times classed as 'Latino' - that's not a connection with genetic background, yet to language. Latin languages contain Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, or maybe Romanian. many times, however, the term is aplied to Latin people - spanish and portuguese talking peoples of the western hemisphere. on an identical time because it may well be ordinary to take Anglo as which ability English, it would desire to be meant greater interior the experience of Anglophone: english-talking peoples. as a consequence, people, non-Quebecois Canadians, Brits, Australians, and so on could all be 'Anglos.' of direction, there are various non-white community english audio gadget, so i assume it would desire to easily be that they actually do think of all white people come from England. Afterall, people like toclaim that 'Anglos' think of all 'Latinos' are Mexcian, so why not turn it around?

Mexican are often classed as 'Latino' - this is not a reference to genetic heritage, but to language. Latin languages include Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, and even Romanian. Generally, though, the term is aplied to Latin Americans - spanish and portuguese speaking peoples of the western hemisphere.
While it'd be easy to take Anglo as litterally meaning English, it could be meant more in the sense of Anglophone: english-speaking peoples. Thus, Americans, non-Quebecois Canadians, Brits, Australians, etc would all be 'Anglos.'
Of course, there are lots of non-white native english speakers, so I suppose it could just be that they really do think all white people come from England. Afterall, people like to claim that 'Anglos' think all 'Latinos' are Mexcian, so why not turn it around?

In contemporary American usage, Anglo is used primarily in direct contrast to Hispanic or Latino. In this context it is not limited to persons of English or even British descent, but can be generally applied to any non-Hispanic white person. Thus in parts of the United States with large Hispanic populations, an American of Polish, Irish, or German heritage might be termed an Anglo just as readily as a person of English descent.

Well, I'd rather be called an anglo than cracker, whitie, or gringo. Although, you are correct, anglo does not refer to all Caucasians. There are only 3 races, anthropologically speaking - Caucasoid, *******, and Mongoloid. I think probably very few people in this world (if we could trace it back far enough) are totally pure in one of these three. All of us have a mix somewhere, even if its 10 or 20 generations back.

Because the "white" ( I dislike the term because it is racist ) yanks come from the British who colonized the USA, and the British ( at least the English ) descend from the Anglo Saxon tribes that were carried as slaves to England after the Roman empire of the West fell

Why do you say "ALL" when you have no way of knowing the minds of all Mexicans? do i smell prejudice or are you to irrational to see the flaw in your logic
1. white people -from the US- are primarily descended from Anglo-saxons (or were you to busy scapegoating during history class)
2. I dont know the language that prompted these thoughts in you so i can only assume...... "chino" is a spanish words that means literaly chinese, however it is commonly used as a an umbrella term for Asians, in its slang form "chino does not differentiate between Chinese and other asian ethnicities.....the closest aproximation i could give you in English.....is Black while many asians (and ive heard them say it) lump all black together as "bleck" there are subdivisions as with any other race, based on locale and country i've never heard first generation Mexicans use the term oriental
I think your intelligent enough to see my logic...I HOPE your are not motivated by hate or racism since that is how your thoughts make you sound.....

If white folk are not complaining about being called white, why would they complain about being called Anglos? Do not make a non-issue an issue. I lived in San Antonio and El Paso, not one white person objected to being called Anglos. The truth is, they really like it.
Also, many Italians loved being referred to as Anglos because they see themselves as being Irish, Scot, or Welsh. My college professor was Italian, and he always talked about his WASPY lineage.
