to grasp the fact that Mary indeed had other children after giving birth to Jesus? She was a flesh and blood human being......who later married the man Joseph whom she was engaged to.after being picked by Jehovah God to fulfill a special assignment
Please explain why you feel that she didn't have other children, even though the Bible tells us that she did.

ANDREW A....it is sad indeed that so many stumble along blindly because of refusing to open their eyes and actually "see" for themselves. Thank you for a great answer and the scriptures to back it up.

You are correct !! Psalm 69:8 , Matthew 13:55 ,Mark 6:3 ,15:40 . Those people have blinders on and are stuck in what they are taught instead of reading it them selves . Sad isn't it ??

Because they have elevated Mary to the status of goddess, in fact the "mother of God" and intercessor. Being sexual and having children in the normal manner humanizes her. This is what I learned from a Catholic woman with whom I once studied the Bible. She all but wept at reading scriptures that showed that Mary and Joseph had other children. (Matthew 13:53-56, Mark 3:31-36)

Once we are saved and belong to God, the Spirit takes up residence in our hearts forever, sealing us with the confirming, certifying, and assuring pledge of our eternal state as His children. Jesus said He would send the Spirit to us to be our Helper, Comforter, and Guide.
The Spirit’s presence within us enables us to understand and interpret the Word. Jesus told His disciples “when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13). He reveals to our minds the whole counsel of God as it relates to worship, doctrine, and Christian living. He is the ultimate guide, going before, leading the way, removing obstructions, opening the understanding, and making all things plain and clear. He leads in the way we should go in all spiritual things. Without such a guide, we would be apt to fall into error.
The Catholics have fallen into the error of trusting "unbiblical traditions" such as the perpetual virginity of Mary instead of the truth of Scripture because they have not been born again and recieved the Holy Spirit. Trying to use Scripture to reason with a Catholic just does not work!!!

Catholicism pretends that Mary was 'forever virgin', seemingly ignoring the fact that she had other sons and daughters after Jesus was born.
The bible teaches quite clearly that Jesus had literal brothers and sisters in connection with his human mother Mary. There is no reason to think that these ordinary men and women were also the result of divine conception, rather than from normal marital relations between Mary and Joseph.
(Matthew 13:54-56) And after coming into his home territory [Jesus] began to teach them in their synagogue, so that they were astounded and said: "Where did this man get this wisdom and these powerful works? 55 Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? 56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Where, then, did this man get all these things?"
While some Catholics pretend that the terms "brothers" and "sisters" do not mean literal siblings, the plain meaning of this Scripture is actually acknowledged by Catholic authorities.
The New Catholic Encyclopedia (1967, Vol. IX, p. 337) admits regarding the Greek words "adelphoi" ["brothers"] and "adelphai" ["sisters"], used at Matthew 13:55, 56, that these "have the meaning of full blood brother and sister in the Greek-speaking world of the Evangelist's time and would naturally be taken by his Greek reader in this sense. Toward the end of the 4th century (c. 380) Helvidius in a work now lost pressed this fact in order to attribute to Mary other children besides Jesus so as to make her a model for mothers of larger families. St. Jerome, motivated by the Church's traditional faith in Mary's perpetual virginity, wrote a tract against Helvidius (A.D. 383) in which he developed an explanation . . . that is still in vogue among Catholic scholars."
In addition, Bible students note that Jesus himself made a clear distinction between his literal brothers and sisters and his spiritual brothers and sisters:
(Mark 3:31-35) Now his mother and his brothers came, and, as they were standing on the outside, they sent in to [Jesus] to call him. 32 As it was, a crowd was sitting around him, so they said to him: "Look! Your mother and your brothers outside are seeking you." 33 But in reply he said to them: "Who are my mother and my brothers?" 34 And having looked about upon those sitting around him in a circle, he said: "See, my mother and my brothers! 35 Whoever does the will of God, this one is my brother and sister and mother."

that is true, like babydoll said, people think that Mary is the mother of God, but in she is the Mother of the son of God Jehovah. Mary is Jesus Christ mother and Joseph was his stepfather. they had other children when Mary and Joseph where married. people pray to Mary, when they should not be praying to Mary. she was a virgin when Jehovah's Holy Spirit went into Mary, but she did not stay a virgin

People will believe what they want to believe, even if it is written in the Bible. Mostly because God has blinded there eyes. True Christians believe what is in the Holy Scriptures and don't concern themselves with other peoples unbelief.

Probably because having siblings make him sound more human. But it would make sense that a woman of child bearing age with a husband and a time with little birth control would go on to have more children.

Things our parents told us were true are very hard to disagree with, even when we learn the opposite is true.
After all, its our parents.
The Catholic church has been teaching for centuries that Jesus was an only child.
Parents listened ....and told their children.
Children grew up believing mommy and daddy.
One's love of truth is put to the test.
