everything went well
but until about 5 mins after the lady inserted the needle in to my vein, and there was about half pint up, the blood stopped flowing, and instead, the blood went back to my vein and caused it to swell up
and that lady had to take the needle out
what happened?
i'm an athlete, i'm healthy, my vein is big, though.
and she said she likes my vein :DDD

The vein infiltrated. This happens alot, does not depend on how healthy you are or anything, what happens is when blood is coming throught he vein does shake a little and probably what happened what the needle caught the other side of the vein and caused it to collapse therefore bleeding around the holes in the vein. No biggie.

The bevel or tip of the needle could have been displaced. Most commonly it had pierced and perforated the vein and the needle tip got out of the vein. Some of the venous blood had then extravasated or went out of the vein to cause the swelling. Nothing to worry.
