Call me silly but I bet the Instruction Manual with the Lightsphere has something to say about how much light you actually lose using it. I know, I know - its really boring actually reading the Instructions.

If your camera and flash are TTL compatible and you know how to make them work together then you have no problem. The camera will keep the flash on until sufficient light has reached the sensor.

If you are still learning about shutter speeds and aperture, I'd suggest you put the camera on AUTO.

You'll likely get better results than if you try to guess what to do, and you'll concentrate on the subject matter rather than the camera settings.

If the results are not what you wanted, then consider taking matters into your own hands.
