I have 3 dogs, 2 males and 1 female, they have all been "fixed" but they all still hump eachothers backs and my 2 male dogs continue to lift their legs on my artificial christmas tree every year. I thought once they were neutered that this would stop but it didnt change them at all! Help! How can I get them to stop behaving this way??

Some owners go to pet vets to have their pets receive a "chemical alternative" shot which will lower their testosterone or progesterone level.

Even neutered males will mount other dogs and mark their territory. It is a sign of dominance. if they were neutered later in life, or are a more difficult (terriers, etc.) some will mount and urinate more often. Even female dogs have been known to mount other dogs in an attempt to claim dominance. If the behavior really bothers you, I would consult a trainer. it is a natural thing though :) And more times than not, it is a habit that will stick around even after training because it is natural to them.

They are doing still becaus they are dominating ewach other and you, you have to be the alpha (I don't mean hump them back and peeon their bedding or yell and hit and flip them over) I mean, set groud rules and stick to them, once the dogs see that you make all the rules and they only do things on y9our terms, they will see you as the alpha and not the omega. you'll have to research how to teach dog rules and how to enforce them in a way you agree with, since they are your dogs, but that is what has to happen so they respect you and your stuff.

You cannot stop it. Just because they are neutered which takes away the privilege of having puppies but dog's still go through this ritual all the time. I have 2 chocolate labs and 2 St.Bernard's and they do it also. Just try and ignore them when they are in the motion

Don't worry, this is perfectly normal dog behavior. It is a dog's way of trying to dominate or boss the other dog. Females will exhibit this behavior nearly as often as males. Don't confuse this with mating behavior.

I'm just guessing but what i know is that every dog gets in heat. You could spray them with water or leave the female in one area and the males in another

yeah thats funny. it's all about being the dominant dog....they must be close to equal in size etc and still trying to sort out who the top dog is.
