I came into the army as a Delay entry program 1 was on active duty for a year got out under chapter 8 (pregnancy) I went to the national guard for the 1 year try on program that they have, then went to the IRR for another year, total: 1 year active, 1 year national guard, 1 year IRR, the recruiter told me i will be eligeble for a bonus after i become MOS Q for a reserve unit, I'm MOS Q now. But Retention is telling me i will not qualify because i was in the national guard 1 year try on. I never recieve any bonus before. I currently dont have any contract with the reserves. what they have is my transfer from the IRR to the reserve unit.
Any help will be appreciate it.
Thanks

not everyone qualifies for a bonus. not every MOS gets a bonus. just because you are already qual'd in one does not mean that A they will let you come in with that MOS and two it does NOT mean you are eligible for a bonus. not all PS qualify, and you are classified as PS.

Mrsjvb is absolutely right! And, something I learned when I left active and joined the guard, the guard and reserves counts your IRR time as time in service. Therefore, if the mos bonus you were looking for was for a new soldier, you are automatically disqualified. Ask the retention NCO at your unit.
