Nope

It's the LOVE of MONEY the root of evil. The origin of that saying is biblical...

Timothy 6:10
"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

The actual quote is the love of money is the root of all evil. I do think the love of money has produced a lot of evil in this world. Money in the right hands can do a lot for people. It's just when it gets to the greedy ones that the problems begin.

I do not agree that the love of money is the radix malorum (root of evil) if by that you mean the *only* root of evil. That dead and withered weed has many strong roots. However, I do agree that the love of money is the root of so many of the world's evil acts that its place is special. In Dante, when he came in Purgatory to the tier of Greed, he saw more souls laboring to overcome that sin than all the other 6 deadly sins combined. All the world's religions, in different ways, warn of the corrupting power of a relentless mental focus on wealth, on *things*, as a dangerous fetishism that destroys the conscience and warps the personality.

Money is not the root of all evil, the LOVE of money is: 1Timothy 6:10. It is only when we put money before anything else that greed and selfishness takes over, then we stray away from God and get caught up in materialism and sin. That's why the majority of secular rap and rock videos are consumed with half naked women, fancy cars and expensive jewelry. Some people will do anything for money, including taking your life!

I disagree. I agree with the Bible where it says, "the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." 1Tim 6:10 But money itself is not the root of any evil, and certainly not THE root of evil.

No, money is not the root of evil. "The love of money is the root of all evil" is the correct quote and it comes from the Bible and, yes, I agree.

Scripture tells us that "The love of money is the root of all evil." When you consider and think about this for awhile You will agree that it's true and it is.

No not at all. It does cause some crimes of desperation and some people to do various "bad" things, but mostly I'd say misuse of power or lack of empathy would be the roots of all evil.

Edit:
I'd suggest that many Christians don't have a clue about real evil, consider the Holocaust or Charles Manson, neither of those were motivated by "money" or greed.
