This is very strange and I fear is going to sound very arrogant at the same time. When I was younger, 7 I think, I had a dream that a demon was chasing me...it was extremely scary and he just kept chasing me. Then I would wake up in cold sweat and I would fall back asleep 20 minutes later. When I would fall back asleep this would pick up right where it left off. I did this 6 or 7 times that night. Until finally I turned my light on and started reading my bible. It happened again a few years later and again a few years after that. It happened the last time a few days ago and when I was trying to snap myself out of it I was half awake and I couldn't move or open my eyes. I started praying out of fear with tears in my eyes and finally I could move and I jumped up out of bed. I don't tell anyone this obviously. So anyways, back to the arrogant part. I have questioned whether this demon or demons see potential in me or something. I am currently in law school and plan to go into politics shortly but I want to do a lot of good. Perhaps they are trying to disuade me somehow. I dunno I'm prolly an arrogant prick...but I just don't understand the focus. It would be awesome if I was just crazy but I don't think that's the case...any advice?

O.k. firstly, I have had very unusual experiences myself. What you speak of MAY be only something like "sleep paralasis" but it also may be more than that... It truly could be that demons do see you as a threat. It could be as you say... that demons are trying to disuede you from fulfilling your destiny. Consider that you DO have potential in some area that God will use you mightily in... although, if you want to be used by God, you must be extremely humble and submissive to Him... (showing you trust Him) It is of utmost importance to become very close to God, and to love Him as your Father if you really want to fulfill your calling on your life and to be used by God to bring about wonderful things in your life and in the world. Otherwise, the demons may use you instead of God, and trust me... being used by demons and opening yourself up to the power of demons by not humbling yourself and not putting your trust in God, is not pleasant.

Remember that Knowing who you are (God's child), and fulfilling your destiny can only be made complete and perfect by humbling yourself before Him. Trusting Him as His child... that is how to connect to Him... because without Humility all your wisdom isn't wisdom and all of your accomplishments and all your righteousness would be as filthy rags, because pride sours it.

There is something called "sleep paralasis (sp!)
See a doctor. Because you've had the experience several times, you may have a sleep disorder.
Did these dreams come during times of stress or change?

I've suffered from some similar dreams which were random and I do have a sleep disorder. They can be pretty scary (and interesting lol).

Dreams like that, something after you, often result from stress. If you are religious, then it's no surprise that your mind makes it a 'demon' of sorts if that is something you grew up seeing as a 'bad guy'.

For me on the other hand, when I've been stressed, it's usually tornadoes. On occasion it's a person or other scary thing after me.

(And the not moving part...sleep paralysis, look it up.)

What you experienced is VERY common. As a child, it's called night terrors.
As an adult, the situation where you couldn't move or open your eyes is called sleep paralysis, and it's related to night terrors. Sleep paralysis is often accompanied by hypnagogic hallucinations, where you DO open your eyes, but you can't move, and you actually SEE things. (Hallucinate.) It's basically a state between sleeping and waking.

**Note--you don't need to see a psychiatrist. Believe me, what you've experienced is very common. Read up on it, starting with the pages I showed you.

I think you need to visit a psychiatrist. Just to rule out the possibility of schizophrenia.
