You don't necessisarily need to eat 3 meals a day, but rather the amount of calories required for your body (which could be 4-5 small meals or so on). You could eat 1 big meal and eat enough calories for the day, so it really depends on what you are eating. As for skipping meals, I see the logic you have but it's not correct. If you don't give your body the calories it needs, what it does is go into "starvation" mode. This means that your body will start to store everything you eat (because it doesn't know when it's getting food next) instead of burning it. This causes you to gain weight. Additonally, by eating small meals throughout the day, you foce your metabolism to work hard and constantly burn. When you skip meals your metabolism slows down and stops burning as effectively. Again, causing you to gain weight. When you do eat a bit more, or return to eating a healthy amount of calories, you will gain weight as you've trained your body to such few amount of calories and you've slowed down your metabolism. So, eat properly and exercise. It's the only effective way to lose and maintain your weight.

shell lose a pound during the first week, then will gain 10 the next one.cuz u get more hungry and eat more from the next meal, plus ur metabolism slows down like crazy and turns anything u eat into fat. ud better off eating more but also working out more.muscles burn extra calories thus fat, thus inches decrease.

skipping meals is a really bad idea. Count calories it depends on your age height and weight, but have a strict calorie limit to go with exercise. I lost 37 pounds eating crappy food and not exercising, just think if you ate good food and exercised!

not a good idea- all you lose that way is your metabolism, water weight and muscle not fat
to lose fat you have to create just a slight deficit in daily caloric intake - eat 5-6 small meals a day -make healthy food choices
