My right eye actually sees text more clearly at a few feet range than my left eye.

It's called mono vision. I can't see near or far with out mono vision contact lenses. You will be pleased with what your eye Dr. can tell you about this! Please don't suffer without seeing clearly, Go to a glasses and contact place soon. You will not be sorry! Lens Crafters is best!

It could.
At the least you need an examination to find out exactly what the imbalance is, and what a "tuned in" pair of eyes feels and looks like.
You may find it makes things vastly clearer and more comfortable.
Having said that, some people have acclimatised to having one eye dominant for near and the other dominant for distance, and find glasses actually interfere (even though of technically correct Rx), or just find the cost and inconvenience of glasses not not worth the small degree of improvement they offer.
All possibilities, all medically valid personal decisions, though most people are happier with both eyes teamed up.
(Deliberately creating the effect you have is sometimes done in contact lenses for people over 45, to avoid the expensive and not always successful bifocal/varifocal contacts. Monovision: one eye for distance, one for reading. Some brains settle to it, some brains HATE it!)
